Orbital and Suborbital Internet

NASA Awards Two Spaceflights to Solstar

NASA has awarded Solstar two spaceflights to test its Schmitt Space Communicator (SC) aboard @BlueOrigin's New Shepard launch vehicle.  If all goes as planned, Solstar will demonstrate the first ever commercial internet service and WiFi in space! The goal is to provide a 2-way internet connection for passengers and experiments on spacecraft.

Our Schmitt SC is named after Apollo 17 astronaut and moonwalker, Harrison Schmitt.  I had the great fortune to work closely with Dr. Schmitt for over a year as we worked together on early business planning for what is now Spaceport America.  ( @spaceportamerica).

Our SC is built and we are currently conducting ground tests for our upcoming flights.  Everything is proceeding very well.  Like us on Facebook to keep up with our latest developments.  Things are moving very quickly at Solstar.
