Blessings for the New Year

As you stand on the starting point of a new year, what do you see? What opportunities lie on the roa d ahead? What blessings is God waiting to pour out?

I Am the New Year
I am the New Year. I am an unspoiled page in your book of time.  I am your next chance at the art of living. I a m your opportunity to practice what you have learned about life during the last twelve months.  All that you sought and didn't find is hidden in me, waiting for you to search it but with more determination.  All the good that you tried for and didn't achieve is mine to grant when you have fewer conflicting desires.  All that you dreamed but didn't dare to do, all that you hoped but did not will, all the faith that you claimed but did not have-these slumber lightly, waiting to be awakened by the touch of a strong purpose.
I am your opportunity to renew your allegiance to Him who said, "Behold, I make all things new." (Bible Illustrator)

It has been an honor and a privilege to serve alongside you this past year and we look forward to continuing that team ministry. We wish you a wonderful new year filled with blessings, joy, and treasured moments. May 2016 be the year Jesus takes us home with Him!

In Service,

Drs. Claudio & Pamela Consuegra

NAD Family Ministries Department "Help! I'm a Parent" Receives 2015 Best of Silver Spring Award

Silver Spring Award Program Honors the Achievement

SILVER SPRING November 16, 2015 -- NAD Family Ministries Department "Help I'm a Parent" has been selected for the 2015 Best of Silver Spring Award in the Religious Organization category by the Silver Spring Award Program.

Each year, the Silver Spring Award Program identifies companies that we believe have achieved exceptional marketing success in their local community and business category.

These are local companies that enhance the positive i mage of small business through service to their customers and our community. These exceptional companies help make the Silver Spring area a great place to live, work and play.

Various sources of information were gathered and analyzed to choose the winners in each category. The 2015 Silver Spring Award Program focuses on quality, not quantity. Winners are determined based on the information gathered both internally by the Silver Spring Award Program and data provided by third parties.

Resources
NEW : Research shows that between 30 and 50 percent of new members who are baptized do not stick to the church. They fall away. Sometimes we notice only after it has been several months or even years. What happened to them? Where did they go? Why did they leave? And, most importantly, what could we
have done to help them stay connected to God's family?

Welcome to the Family
will help you integrate newly baptized members into the local congregation. It involves inviting the entire church, including new members, to attend one program per week over a period of six weeks. These sessions will work like glue to bond people to the church. (Read more.)

Each two-hour program begins with a fellowship meal and music, followed by a time of learning about health, spiritual and church dynamics, and, most importantly, family and relationship issues. Reproducible handouts for each session are included in this manual.
Sessions include:
  • Communication
  • Conflict Resolution
  • Love Works
  • Parenting
  • Growing in Christ
  • Celebrating Your Church Family
Improve new member retention by hosting a Welcome to the Family program in your church and helping all members build friendships, strengthen family bonds, and improve their relationships.  Includes CD with PowerPoint presentations.
Update on Two New Parenting Resources

God has continued to lead in the parenting initiative and we are thrilled to share with you an update on two new parenting resources:

1. "Help, I'm a Parent II"-(for parents with children ages

8-12) The manual for this next edition has now been written and edited We have completed filming all of the

in-home segments and the studio filming with the guest experts is scheduled for the end of January. This resource kit should be available for release in the spring. (Read more.)

2. "Parenting Kids with Different Abilities"-(by Kristin Breiner) We have heard numerous requests for a

supplemental parenting book for raising children with special needs. We wanted our parents to have an

authentic voice in this book. Therefore, we asked Kristin Breiner, a pastor's wife and women's ministry leader to share the challenges and joys of her personal journey. We are finishing the final lay-out and design of this book and it will be available shortly.

It is so exciting to hear stories of how God is using these resources. We give the praise and glory to Him. Please continue to keep this important initiative in your prayers.
