NACA Middle School Remote Rockdown
On Tuesday, March 23rd, students at NACA will celebrate their connectedness in a remote environment throughout the day. Students will have the opportunity to engage in unique experiences online. The Remote Rockdown will be a way for students to connect with one another and with teachers through fun and exciting activities. The SAT class will prepare your student for upcoming test dates and is priced at a discounted rate of $299.
NEW FORMAT: ALL Kaplan SAT Prep Courses are now ONLINE! This allows many more course options with different schedules to work for your family.

North Allegheny Senior High School PE Virtual Blood Drive
Now more than ever, it is an important time to give back. You can do just that by donating blood from Monday, March 1, through Sunday, March 14, at a Vitalant donation center. By making an appointment at your most convenient Vitalant donation center, you can help save lives during this critical time. Make sure to follow the instructions below as following these instructions earns scholarship money for NASH students! This is an opportunity for ALL NA staff, students, and community members (16 years old or older).
- When your email arrives, click “Schedule Now” to book your appointment at any convenient blood donation location.
- Be sure to use the same email address you used to sign up. This is important because it helps Vitalant connect your donation to our organization’s virtual blood drive.
- Provide the same email address at the time of donation.
Visit the Vitalant website for more information about donating. Please note that Vitalant is offering COVID-19 antibody testing on all donations. Again, you can donate at any Vitalant center convenient for you from 3/1 - 3/14. There is an urgent need for blood donations, so please consider participating in our NASH PE Blood Drive during these challenging times

Carson Middle School Yearbooks On Sale Now
Any family wishing to purchase a 2020-2021 Carson Middle School yearbook can do so now by following the link below and using ordering code 5013. The cost is $21, and NACA students should use HR# 000 when ordering. Orders are due by March 31st.

Spring School Pictures
Many families have been reaching out to NACA staff to inquire about school pictures being taken by school photographers this spring. Due to logistical issues, spring pictures are not being offered within NACA. Options are being explored for the possibility of spring school pictures being taken in future years.

Middle School iPad Troubleshooting
Mr. Sabo has joined team NACA as our resident iPad troubleshooting expert! He is now available to all middle school students to help work through any issues, glitches, and minor problems when utilizing District-provided iPads. Mr. Sabo should now be the first point of contact for students that need help with any iPad-related issues. Math Homework Help
This after-school club is offered to help struggling math students in grades 3, 4, and 5 to receive extra support from our NASH National Honor Society students. Spaces are limited to the first 20 students to sign-up each week and currently are only offered to students in grades 3 to 5. Please visit the Blackboard NACA Students and Families page, and select Community Time and Clubs. The signup form is located in the After School Clubs folder. Each week will have a new sign up form and the Google Form will become unavailable when we reach our maximum of 20 students for the week. Monday afternoon or evening you and your child will receive a confirmation email with the Google Meet Link to join. Students may join the meeting at 3:40 and the meeting starts at 3:45 to 4:30. Moe’s Dinner PFA Fundraiser

Small-Group Sessions with NACA Counselors
Our school counselors, Kelly Kevan and Katie Wisniewski, will be offering small groups to NACA students. These groups will facilitate social interaction, while aligning to the Social/Emotional weekly topic. If you are interested in having your child participate, please sign up using the link on the school counselor’s website, which is linked below. Teachers can also make a referral for a student to participate. You will then receive an email by Monday providing you with the log-in information, the specific social/emotional topic and the option to Opt-Out. This LINK includes the schedule for the dates and times for each grade level.

March Health & Safety Update
The North Allegheny School District is committed to the safety and well-being of our students and staff. The District continues to follow the Health & Safety plan submitted to the PA Department of Education. NASD Closed Campus Policy
On February 24, the NASD School Board of Directors voted to approve Policy 722. To ensure the safety and security of our students and staff, the District will begin limiting access to our campus for individuals in the community during school hours (6:00 a.m. through 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, during the school year and on days when school is in session). Beginning in March, individuals are not permitted to use our school campuses and athletic facilities for casual pedestrian traffic, dog or animal walking, bike riding, and other activities. A copy of this policy can be found on the North Allegheny School District’s BoardDocs portal.

MSU Testimonial Video Signup Form
The NASH Multicultural Student Union (MSU) is working on a project centered around the stories of individuals in the NA community. MSU is inviting students and teachers to answer one or more of the questions below in an interview:
- What has been your greatest challenge?
- What’s one thing you want people to take away from your story?
- What makes you rejoice?
The answers will then be compiled into a video that celebrates the experiences of NA's vibrant community. If you are interested in telling your story and being featured in this video, please fill out this form. Anyone in the District can be involved (not just NASH students and teachers). The MSU will contact you to arrange a time and place to film your interview, following COVID-19 health and safety guidelines. We can't wait to hear your story!

Instructional Technology & Support
Students enrolled in the NA Cyber Academy will utilize technology throughout every school day to complete academic activities. Please refer to the link below for information related to educational technology, online textbook resources, and BlackBoard. All issues regarding usernames, passwords, hardware, software, or any other technology needs related to NA Cyber Academy should be submitted to Technology Services at the link below.

This designated webpage will be updated with links to the previous week’s newsletters at the beginning of each school week by 11:30 a.m. A link to the archive is accessible on the District’s homepage and on each building’s homepage.

The North Allegheny School District often receives requests for the distribution of athletics and approved non-profit community organization digital flyers. All requests for community flyers to be included in this newsletter must be submitted via email only at flyers@northallegheny.org.
