What REALTORS® Need to Know about the New Tax Law

NAR has recently completed a series of four informational videos about the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017. The series is entitled, "What REALTORS® Need to Know about the New Tax Law," and consists of four videos with the following topics:

  • Video #1 - An Introduction to the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017
  • Video #2 - Major Changes for Individuals and Families
  • Video #3 - Changes Affecting Tax Incentives of Owning a Home
  • Video #4 - Tax Changes for Real Estate Professionals

These videos have now been posted to the NAR YouTube page and can be found here:

They are also embedded on NAR.realtor on a special page that included the scripts and slides. Even better, they are presented in a way that viewers can look only at the segment that interests them. Please see:

This infographic was published in several area communications last week, with a combined circulation of nearly 200,000 readers. If you would like to use this in your marketing efforts, please click the image to download a PDF version of the file.

Please note: Committees are seated in December of each year, but the sign up form is available all year. We will share your information and preferences with the committee chairpersons at their Leadership Conference in early December.

3Q AGENT AWARDS REPORT

The MLS staff has compiled a report for awards production through September 30. It will be finalized and sent out this week. Please review the report when you have seen it and, if you feel it is in error, send an email (include supporting documentation) to mls@nwarealtors.org and let us know what you believe is in error. We will review the documentation and get back to you.

Our committee is already hard at work arranging this year's award celebration and you will NOT want to miss this party! Be sure to save the date for our award celebration...Saturday, April 6.
DATA CHECKER

Data checker is up and running, after being suspended by the Board of Directors during the MLS conversion. Please open emails from MLS DATA COMPLIANCY EmailNotification@interealty.com.

Also, please add EmailNotification@interealty.com to your address book to make sure your notifications are being received.
Please take care to share only the public MLS data sheets with your clients and at open houses. We've heard that we have members who are sharing the Agent Display and that contains information that the public should not see.
Just a reminder...it is a violation of our MLS Rules to provide access to a property under any terms other than those published in the MLS. If it says appointment only in the MLS you must make an appointment prior to showing. The fine for doing otherwise is substantial but it's not an issue as long as you follow the published showing instructions. This conduct can also be determined to be a violation of the REALTOR® Code of Ethics ( Standards of Practice 1-16 and 3-9).
