Master of Ceremonies Nick Bobzien, NABOR® President 2023, kicked off the evening by declaring his year as president a success with 45 in-person events and over 100 classes, which delivered advanced training opportunities to over 8,000 attendees; 142 of whom earned specialized designations or certifications.
The annual NABOR® Night of Honors also provided an opportunity to recognize achievements by various committees in 2023 including: the Naples REALTOR® Magazine Committee, which won four Florida Magazine Association Awards in 2023; NABOR®’s REALOR® Political Action Committee, which received the Florida Realtors Highest Total Cash Award and Triple Crown; and NABOR®’s Global Network, which earned the National Association of REALTOR®’s Platinum status.
A remarkable 29 members were inducted into the NABOR® Honor Society, many of whom were also inducted into the Florida Realtors® Honor Society. The Honor Society honors members for their overall participation at the local, state, and national levels including their activity in NAR®’s institutes, societies and councils, designations earned; educational activities; and political involvement.
The prestigious 2023 Addison B. Miller Award was presented by PJ Smith, NABOR®’s current President and the 2022 Addison B. Miller Award recipient. This NABOR® award recognizes an individual who works to enhance and/or preserve private property rights, ownership and transferability, and the preservation of the free enterprise system. The 2023 Addison B. Miller Award went to Danielle Hudson, NABOR®’s Vice President of Public Policy. Since her employment at NABOR® began in 2019, Hudson has worked tirelessly behind the scenes to become a voice at the table during critical meetings with legislators in the city, county and state. Furthermore, under her leadership, NABOR® developed many public policy positions such as those addressing zoning, water quality, smart growth, and density.
Smith also presented the 2024 NABOR® Hall of Fame Award to 30-year NABOR® member Mary Waller. The Hall of Fame award recognizes members who have exhibited extraordinary dedication and service of over 20 years of membership in NABOR®. Waller began serving on NABOR® committees in 2009 and has been an integral component of the success of NABOR®’s REALTOR® Magazine. In addition to having served on NABOR®’s Board of Directors and multiple NABOR® committees, she is a graduate of the NABOR® Leadership Academy and the Florida Realtors® Leadership Academy. She has also devoted her time to several Florida Realtor® and National Association of REALTOR® committees. Waller has received NABOR®’s prestigious Citizen of the Year Award and REALTOR® Committee Contribution Award. Outside of NABOR®, Waller has served the local community as a leader for Naples Better Government, the Collier County Affordable Housing Advisory Committee, and the City of Naples Community Redevelopment Advisory Board.
