When customers enter their account number or name incorrectly (doesn't match what's in NorthStar/on their bill), they'll get an error that says: Unable to verify account. They'll also receive this error if they attempt to register with an email address that already exists in the utility's MyAccount system. This "orphaned email address" may exist because:
- Email address may have been used to register in the past and the account is no longer active
- Email address may be registered as a secondary user
The Admin search feature has been updated to find those 'orphaned' emails so they can be removed. Once removed, customers are able to register successfully.
To find an "orphaned email address", search for it in the Admin screen search bar. Within the search results, there will be an option to remove the email address.
