GIS Regional Conference

The last week in April, our awesome Geographic Information Systems (GIS) team was in Frisco for the annual South Central Arc Users Group GIS conference. This gathering served as a platform for our team members to engage with their counterparts from across the region, fostering invaluable connections and insights to shape the future of GIS and how it is used in North Texas.

Drinking Water Week

May 5-11 is Drinking Water Week, a week-long event promoted by the American Water Works Association (AWWA) to recognize the importance of safe and clean drinking water, promote water conservation practices, and recognize the dedication of water professionals, like our staff, who work hard to provide service Second to None to our customers! 


This year is extra special because 2024 makes 50 years since the passing of the Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA) by the Environmental Protection Agency! Gary Jones - Meter Services Crew Leader 

Meet Gary Jones, our experienced Crew Lead in Meter Services. Gary has been with us for an impressive 17 years! His job involves overseeing staff and assigning them zones to complete work orders for meter installations, checking for leaks and water pressure concerns. He leads his crew with pride to provide top-notch service.

 

Gary's typical day includes assigning daily priorities, teaching his team new skills and helping them out in the field. He focuses on keeping our customers informed and happy. That's where his years of experience comes in handy to solve problems quickly. 

 

Pride and dedication like Gary’s are what keep Mustang Special Utility District a utility that's Second to None!

Project Spotlight

Mustang is presently engaged in drilling a well adjacent to our Gunter Satellite Office, aiming to bolster water production within the Gunter community. 

Challenge

As the population in Mustang Special Utility District's service area continues to grow in the North, additional sources of water production are needed to meet customer demand.

Solution

Mustang contracted with C Miller Drilling to drill a well adjacent to our Gunter satellite office to increase water production in the area.

Project Investment

Approximately $6 Million.

This project is an important step in growing our system, staying on top of demand and serving our customers in the Gunter area.
