VOLUNTEERS
The valued assistance of volunteers ensures the Algonquin Outfitters Muskoka River X goes off without issues. Volunteer experiences primarily involve oversight of designated locations along the routes and the monitoring/reporting of team status, team progress and engagement with race management and safety teams regarding logistical and safety related items. The specific volunteer positions range from daytime positions lasting a few hours to night-time positions over longer periods of time. All positions are accessed with a vehicle. For those looking for more adventurous experiences that include higher degrees of responsibility and remoteness, potential volunteers can speak with Rob and Mike to determine what is available. In return for their efforts volunteers receive a premium long sleeve tech shirt, meal ticket to the awards banquet, snacks, and a full volunteer kit including instructions, maps, and event documentation. Plus, they get a behind the scene and up-close-and-personal MRX weekend experience. If you know someone who would like to volunteer, please send her or him our way by emailing info@muskokariverx.com.

VOYAGEUR CLASS
Are you strong enough to be a Voyageur? Voyageurs were the canoe transportation workers of the fur trade. Their strength and endurance is legendary. By entering the Voyageur Class you opt to choose one of a few hand made wooden crates filled with locally crafted goods. For the Sprint and Classic teams, you will pick up your crate from the Huntsville Town Dock and transport it to your destination at Bracebridge (Sprint) or Hidden Valley Resort on Peninsula Lake (Classic). For the Coureur des Bois teams, you will pick up crate at Rock Lake’s boat launch. Your reward for accomplishing this arduous task? Bragging rights of course, and you get to keep the crate and all the goods that it contains. $100/team. Only 3 spots left!
2020 MUSKOKA RIVER X
River X Racing is currently working on an exciting project for 2020!
We cannot disclose the details; however we are building on the successes of the current MRX concept and course. We are digging deeper into our roots, and our vision of the MRX continues to mature. Our mission for 2020 is the rebirth of the Muskoka River X, singularly focused on bringing YOU a once in a lifetime paddling adventure. If the permitting process is successful we will not host our traditional Muskoka River X events in 2020 (
Sprint; Classic; Coureur des Bois
). This year,
2019,
may be the final season to paddle them. We are hoping that our 2020 calendar will be confirmed for an announcement at the MRX awards banquet in September and that YOU will be there.
That’s it for now from River X.
We will be in touch with registered teams closer to the race weekend with further updates. In the meantime watch for updates via
Facebook
. If you have any questions please feel free to reach out to us directly at info@muskokariverx.com. Thank you for supporting our event and we look forward to seeing you in September.
Cheers,
Mike and Rob
