Association of Community College Trustees Governance Leadership Conference

Murray State College Regent Dillon Sparks and President Dr. Tim Faltyn spoke on a "Creating an Exceptional Board/President Relationship" panel at the conference. The session explored the importance of creating and maintaining an exceptional Board/President relationship.

The conference is an annual governance-development and educational program for new and/or experienced trustees and CEOs of community colleges. The Governance Leadership Institute provides an in-depth overview of fundamentals of effective governance topics and trends unique to the community.

Water Agreement Signing

Murray State College leadership and the City of Tishomingo signed the final version of a partnership agreement to connect Murray State's potable water lines to the city's water system.

A total of 206 students attended the last two days of freshman orientation, the largest class in attendance yet. Faculty and staff provided information on the various resources available to them such as financial aid and the academic resource center.

Gunsmithing student Mason Tucker was chosen to receive the 2024 Amateur Trap Shooting Association Gunsmithing $2500 Scholarship.

Oklahoma Rifle Association Event

Murray State College Assistant VP of External Affairs Jordyn Frazier attended the Oklahoma Rifle Association Annual Meeting. She discussed the history of the gunsmithing program, gave an update on the bachelor's degree and construction of the new gunsmithing facility, and invited guests to attend Murray State's summer NRA programs.

Ardmore Community Forum

Murray State staff attended the annual Ardmore Community Forum last week to receive updates on the departments and projects ongoing within the City of Ardmore. They were joined by Murray State Regent Adisha Chapman for a photo with city leadership.

Men's Soccer Scrimmages Ranger College

The Murray State College Men's Soccer Team scrimmaged Ranger College on Thursday.


The Aggie soccer teams will open their seasons at home on Aug. 23. The Lady Aggies will play Paris Junior College at noon, while the Aggies will battle Dallas College - Mountain View at 2 p.m.
