Murray State and Johnston County Industrial Authority Sign MOU

Murray State signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Johnston County Industrial Authority to partner in workforce and economic development.


The MOUs specifically refer to a collaboration to attract firearm and ammunition manufacturers to the area, as well as a commitment to support the JCIA's efforts regarding local housing development.

Fred Chapman FFA Interscholastic Contest

Murray State College hosted 142 schools during the Fred Chapman FFA Interscholastic Contest this past Tuesday. 1,800 students competed in a variety of contests - from livestock judging and soils judging to electricity and floriculture, and more. Congratulations, to all of the winners!

Murray State's Garrett Hughes Wins Team Roping

Murray State Team Roper Garrett Hughes, along with his partner Levi James, won the 2023 Hooey Junior Bob Feist Invitational #10.5 Championship.


The team put together four smooth runs for an aggregate total of 29.44 seconds this past weekend at the Lazy E Arena in Guthrie, Oklahoma.

Murray State College Recruitment Attends Conference in Kansas

Caroline Nenninger and Ashton Heffington attended the Great Plains Association for College Admission Counseling (GPACAC) Conference in Wichita, Kansas, where they gained knowledge to help them become even better admissions counselors.

Gunsmithing Students Attend Swap Meet

Each year, MSC gunsmithing freshmen complete a barreled action gun in their Riflesmithing class. They purchase a blank rifle barrel from Shilen Rifles, Inc.


This year, they invited gunsmithing students to attend their annual swap meet to promote our program.


Students who attended the swap include: Austin Hamilton, Thomas Casper, Zane Dickey, Connor Williams, Dawson Black, Jacob Nietert and David McCaffrey.

MSC President's Scholars Program Visits the Oklahoma City Thunder Organization

Students in the President's Scholars Program (PSP) had the opportunity to look into the business operations of the Oklahoma City Thunder organization. They were able to learn what employees, like Ryan Hock and the Premium Sales Department, do on a daily basis.

Murray State Programs Attend Durant Career Exploration Day

Durant High School hosted a career fair this past Tuesday for high school seniors.


Individuals representing Industrial Engineering, Nursing, Gunsmithing and Vet Nursing talked with students about what Murray and their programs have to offer.

Murray State Student Life Hosts "Thrift Store Formal"

The Murray State ballroom was home to the "Aggie Spring Formal." The theme: thrifty. Students had fun dressing up in their best finds from the thrift stores.

Murray State's PSP Students Share Trip Recap

During mid-year break, Murray's PSP students took a cruise to Cozumel. They shared their cultural adventures and learnings with the MSC executive team.
