A message from Principal Leslie West

We continue to have jam-packed weeks at Muraco. Our 3rd grade students took their first ever bus ride field trip the week before last and our 4th grade experienced a Fells walking field trip on Thursday. Monday was of course our costume parade and our younger classrooms enjoyed various activities to celebrate the event.

Please be reminded that there is no morning supervision out back and out front. Our morning entrance bell rings at 8:05. I have received word that students are arriving at school prior to 8:05 without a parent to supervise them. If your child arrives at school before 8:05, a parent must be there to supervise.

On that note, our school day begins at 8:10. If your child is going to be tardy, please let the classroom teacher know if they will need lunch. Lunch is not prepared on site and so we need to know by 9am if a child needs lunch for the day.

Please join us for a Coffee Talk about Executive Functions on Wednesday November 16 at Drop off (8am). We will be sharing strategies and tools which we use at Muraco as well as things you can do at home to help your child. Everyone is welcomed!! Sponsored by the Special Education Team.

The lost and found is brimming! Please come by and take a look for missing items.

Please see a flyer here from Whitson's and see further below for some important information regarding:

  • Winchester Gives Back program for families in need at the holidays
  • Details on where/how to donate extra Halloween candy to Soldiers’ Angels Treats for Troops
  • Two current openings for pre-school aged learners at the WPS Integrated Preschool

Looking forward to the week ahead,

Leslie

CANDY DROP LOCATION AT MURACO!

If you are interested in donating leftover Halloween candy, there is a bucket in the Muraco front office (as well as ones at Winchester High School, Vinson-Owen, Ambrose, Lincoln, and Lynch) which will be donated to Soldiers’ Angels Treat for Troops. The candy will then be given to our local troops and veterans as a nice treat to show our appreciation for Veterans Day.

The drive will be open until November 15th. We appreciate any donations!

Thank you!

Claire Lupien
