WE'RE ALMOST THERE!
Greetings!

We hope that you are doing well and have been able to enjoy these early days of summer. We are writing to you today to give an update as we continue to wait for events like ours to be permitted to return under the Provincial Reopeening Plan.

July Events

Unfortunately, due to the lack of clarity on the part of the Province on the parameters for “Step 3” of the reopening plan, we have passed a point where we can meaningfully plan for and execute our 2021 Bracebridge Triathlon.

Waiting any longer would jeopardize our ability to reach the event’s historically high standard of production and safety.

Please know that MultiSport Canada is committed to returning to Bracebridge in late-July of 2022.

August Events

We also wanted to provide you with some additional information on some of the other constraints facing our August events. We will require the City of Toronto to reopen the permit process for smaller events in City Parks for our Toronto Island event to be allowed to proceed. We will also need the Ministry of Natural Resources to lift the moratorium on events in Provincial Parks in order to use the beach for our event in Wasaga Beach itself.

September Events

The good news is that prospects for our September events are looking very promising. We believe that our Gravenhurst event should be able to proceed on the weekend of Sept 11th and 12th as the parameters of “Step 3” and beyond should be formalized with plenty of time to be ready. We are also working with the City of Welland to see if we can move our Rose City (Welland) Triathlon to the weekend of Sept 18th and 19th.

Deferrals from 2020

When we are getting closer to being able to open registration for in-person events, those that deferred a 2020 entry will receive an email with a separate “Access Code” that will allow you to register before we open up to the general public and use your 2021 Entry Credit(s).

Virtual Triathlons

We may also offer another Virtual Triathlon in August. We’ve been amazed by the response to our Lakeside and K-Town Virtual Triathlons. We have had registrations from all across Ontario, as well as from as far away as British Columbia, New York, and Florida!

Based on the feedback we’ve received to date; many first-time participants have really enjoyed this low-stress environment for their first event. Our Virtual Events have also been welcomed by those that live too far away from our typal race venues. Based on this feedback, we plan to offer a few of our events both Virtually in 2022 and beyond. What better way to broaden the reach of our sport while staying accessible to new participants?

Next Steps

Any announcements on possible next steps will be sent out in a follow-up Newsletter as well as posted on our Social Media.

We’re nearly back to racing, we just need to hold on a bit longer,
