AUGUST CHALLENGE
Building upon the popularity of the MSC Distance Challenge introduced in July, we are excited to introduce our virtual challenge for the month of August, The Duration Challenge! This Challenge will run until Sept 30th, but you must start from zero each month. Rules and details can be found below.

SUPPORT THE RACES YOU LOVE!

Make no mistake: COVID-19 is the defining challenge of our generation and MultiSport Canada thanks you for your continued support. We are a small passion business that operates year-round with several full-time employees, an office and equipment storage facilities.

If you are looking for a way to help MultiSport Canada during this time and to ensure that the races you love return strong in 2021, please consider ordering a 2020 Podium Medal ($10 shipping included).

Everything has changed this year and we don’t have our usual choice of races available so what can you do to keep motivated and stay focused? In my last article I talked about setting up some alternative goals for 2020 and I wanted to follow up on this with ideas on how to make these goals stick and turn 2020 into a productive season.

With races being cancelled and seemingly nowhere to showcase your fitness, you might have made the decision to shut things down and wait until next year. However, that would be the loss of an opportunity to make yourself even stronger for the 2021 season. Thankfully, it’s still not too late though to reap the benefits.

As endurance athletes, we look forward to summer. Summers means more outdoor training, no need for toe covers or gloves, and ice cream as post-workout rewards. It generally also means race season, but I won’t poke that particular sore spot. One element of summer that is not universally loved is the heat. The Scandanavians have a saying: ‘there’s no bad weather, just bad clothing’, but I don’t think it applies all that well on 40C humidex days.

We find ourselves navigating a new normal with social distancing becoming a highly used phrase in our vocabulary. As cities across the province continue to open up, we must remain vigilant to ensure we are stopping the spread of COVID-19 and are being respectful to those around us. As athletes, we want to be able to take our training outdoors and train with friends and teammates in a safe and healthy way.
