News and updates for your caregiving journey

July 1 - July 31, 2024

Have a Safe & Happy 4th of July!

If you can't get out to enjoy the fireworks, watch them on YouTube Here! Pretty amazing show!

This one from the Philippine International Competition was pretty cool, too, and less than 20 minutes long.

Upcoming Events

  • Mug Club Caregiver Support Group - Wednesday, July 10, 2024. There is no need to register, just show up as life allows for either meeting.
  • Virtually: 10 - 11 a.m. Reminder that we switched over to Microsoft Teams for this meeting. If this is new to you, instructions can be found here on how to get set up. I will open the meeting early if you have any questions on how things work (commenting in chat, raising your hand, etc.).
  • In-Person: 5:30 - 7 p.m. In person at ADRC, 300 S Adams St, Green Bay. The agency will be closed for the day and the doors locked. Please come to the single door entrance (south side) and ring the doorbell. We will be watching and listening to let you in. This month's in-person meeting is a potluck! Do not feel that you need to bring anything if you come, but if you'd like to bring something, let me know. I will be making two different summer salads. We have plenty of plates, forks, knives, etc. Bring an extra container to take home leftovers for those of us making things so we don't have to take all the extra home with us. Let me know if you have any questions and I look forward to seeing everyone in a few weeks. In the meantime, have a safe and happy 4th of July!
  • For each meeting: Please bring with you something that reflects the relationship between you and the person you care for. This could be anything from a wedding picture, a snow globe, a family heirloom that you'd like to pass down some day - something that signifies your relationships with them. We will then go around and have each person share a little bit (1-2 minutes) about the item they brought. If you are coming to the in-person meeting, you can send me a picture of the item, or stop by with the item for me to take a picture of it, so I can work on a slideshow presentation of the items so the group can see it all at once versus passing it around. Just a thought.

  • Falls Free Wisconsin for Caregivers! Check it out! Caregivers give so much to others. It's especially important to take steps to prevent your own falls to be able to continue to care for loved ones. Falls Prevention and Training information related to balance & strength, hearing loss, home safety, medications, and safe footwear.
