Welcome to The Beyond Teaching Team Joseph!
Teaching Schedule: Hatha Yoga — Tuesdays 5:30-6:30 P.M.
|
|
Joseph Shipley
Joseph’s yoga started in 2009 after his military deployment to Afghanistan. After having completed eight Ironman races and several ultra-marathons, Joseph discovered the mental as well as physical benefits of yoga. In 2014 Joseph decided to become a teacher so that he could share yoga with his colleagues. He has taught yoga to soldiers both here in Canada and while deployed on an operational mission. Since 2017, yoga has been the central pillar of Joseph’s treatment for and recovery from PTSD. Once again ready to “face the world,” Joseph is very excited to start teaching again and reaching out to help others.

Inward Escape:
Candlelight Yin & Restorative
With Dawn-Marie Bourgeois
|
|
This session will begin with a yin yoga sequence designed to release tension from head to toe and will set you up for a wonderful release in the restorative yoga portion of the practice. While we look to stress the deeper connective tissues of the body to stimulate healing in our yin postures, restorative yoga invites you to release completely into fully supported postures so that you can relax into a cocoon-like state of healing and well-being.
A great treat for yourself, a loved one, or the perfect idea for a date night with your bestie.
Date: Thursday, March 10th
Time: 7:00 - 8:30 P.M.

Teachers, students and anyone wanting to deepen their practice, refine their teaching skills and learn more about the benefits of this quiet practice.
As we age, the flexibility in our joints can decrease. Yin yoga is a great way to maintain or improve that flexibility. This practice allows you the time to notice and feel the different physical and emotional sensations, while also adding a meditative aspect to your practice.

The use of aroma is a valuable component to our yoga practice. Although specific aromas have their unique benefits, generally speaking, the use of aromas is a grounding and calming tool. If you practice at home and have a diffuser, try using it next time you're on your mat. Another option is to breathe as though the aroma of your favourite flower was permeating the air around you.
