EXCLUSIVE REPORT: Courtyards at Cottonwood Phase II Complete!


On Monday, August 19, Mayor Ulises Cabrera and the City Council attended a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the completion of Phase II of the Courtyards at Cottonwood located at 24580 Cottonwood Avenue.


The second phase of this innovative affordable housing project - made possible through a public-private partnership between the City of Moreno Valley, the County of Riverside, Rancho Belago Developers, Inc., and Kingdom Development - added a total of 32 units for lower-income families.


The units include 16 two-bedroom units, 12 three-bedroom units, and four, four-bedroom units. The Courtyards won a 2024 SCAG Sustainability Award and was designed with energy-efficient materials and appliances to reduce the utility costs for its residents.

El Grito: More to Adore in 2024!

Celebrate Mexican Independence Day and Hispanic Heritage Month during the annual El Grito de Independencia celebration on Sunday, September 15 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Civic Center Amphitheater.

 

El Grito is a free celebration of Mexican heritage that commemorates the country's battle cry for independence. El Grito will feature exciting ballet folklorico performances, mariachis, a charro performance, delicious food, a fun games! Don’t forget your lawn chair and dancing shoes!

MoVal's Getting a New Park!

Moreno Valley has a brand-new park! Join us on August 29, at 10 a.m. for a special ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the completion of Windsong Park, the newest addition to our growing number of amazing City parks.


Bring the family, and check out the beautiful amenities that the park has to offer, including two new playgrounds, a walking path with four exercise stations, and two shaded picnic shelters. Light refreshments will be served.


Windsong Park is located at 13970 Azure Street, Moreno Valley, CA 92555.

Pet of the Week: Mocha

Our Pet of the Week is Mocha, a female, two-year-old sheepdog-terrier mix mix.


Mocha is as sweet as pie, and a little on the shy side, but once she gets to know you, she is all about the cuddles and snuggles. She is leash trained, house trained, and great with young kids and other dogs.
