"Eggs-clusive" Report: Springtastic and Adult Flashlight Egg Scramble

The Springastic Festival & Egg Hunt and Adult Flashlight Egg Scramble events were "egg-stra" epic this year, with giggles galore and miles of smiles!

On Saturday, March 23rd, Spring showers did not stop hundreds of Moreno Valley families from attending the Springtastic Festival and Egg Hunt at Sunnymead Park. Children of all ages had the opportunity to meet the Easter Bunny, fill their baskets with eggs, win awesome prizes, eat tasty treats, and play exciting games.

Later that evening, more than 1,000 MoVal residents packed Lasselle Sports Park and scrambled in the dark with flashlights in hand to gather as many of the 12,000 eggs scattered in the field as possible. Some lucky residents went home with prizes such as televisions, laptops, and game systems. Nobody went home empty-handed.

Chillax to the Max and Hang with the Gang

This week, we pay a visit to the Carla J. Thornton Teen SPOT, a safe, fun, and unique environment for Moreno Valley teens to gather.

The Teen SPOT (which stands for Support, Programs, Opportunities, and Technology) has everything teens need—computers, homework help, recreational activities, supervised programs, and so much more. It's also where we will be holding our Glowing Crazy Egg Hunt for teens between the ages of 11 and 17 on April 5th, from 6-9 p.m. (doors open at 5 p.m.).

Pet of the Week: Jewel

Our Pet of the Week is Jewel, a 47-pound black Labrador Retriever. At 18 months, she still has the sweetness and high energy of a puppy, but is very attentive and anxious to learn new tricks. She's comfortable on a leash and would be a great company on Moreno Valley's beautiful trails and hikes.

If you would like to make Jewel or any pet from the Moreno Valley Animal Shelter part of your family, please contact the Moreno Valley Animal Shelter at 951.413.3790 or visit www.moval.org/pets.
