Illegal Fireworks Can Cause Wildfires
Did you know illegal fireworks can cause devastating wildfires?

With an already tough fire season ahead for our Moreno Valley Firefighters, fireworks can pose even more significant fire hazards. Drought conditions across California increase fire risks associated with illegal fireworks, threatening lives and property and potentially triggering wildfires.

Be a part of the solution, not the problem! Don't use illegal fireworks, they’re just not worth it.

Visit moval.org/fireworks for more information and to report illegal fireworks in your neighborhood.

Learn the ABCs of Pool Safety This Summer
Summer is here, and as temperatures soar, the City of Moreno Valley encourages residents to learn about pool safety this season.

Before you get in the water, be sure to follow the ABCs of pool safety:

  • Adult Supervision. Assign an adult Water Watcher to keep their eyes on the water at all times.

  • Barriers such as fences, self-closing and self-latching gates, pool motion sensors, windows, drain covers and door alarms must be in place.

  • Classes. Parents and Caregivers should take CPR, First Aid, and swimming courses available for both children and adults.

You can also take the Pool Safety Pledge to learn how to be safe in the water this summer. Take the pledge before you take the plunge!

Visit moval.org/poolsafety to learn more.

Pet of the Week: Cassie
Our Pet of the Week is Cassie, a one-year-old Parson Russell Terrier. This sweet little dog can be shy when meeting new people, but she will quickly warm up to you. Although Cassie is a very calm dog, she’s still playful and loves to be active. If you’re looking for a new best friend, Cassie is the one for you!

If you would like to make Cassie or any pet from the Moreno Valley Animal Shelter part of your family, please contact the Moreno Valley Animal Shelter at 951.413.3790 or visit www.moval.org/pets.
