The Taunton Area Chamber of Commerce is partnering once again with the Cranberry Country Chamber of Commerce to present the 21st Annual Diamonds in the Rough Ladies' Golf Outing on Wednesday, September 13, 2023. It will be held at Hillside Country Club, 82 Hillside Avenue in Rehoboth.


Registration begins at 9:00 a.m. We will be playing 9 holes and the course will be played in a scramble format, with a shotgun start at 9:30 a.m. The cost is $80 per player or $300 per foursome and includes green fees, ½ cart, breakfast, lunch, and a gift bag. You can sign up as a single, twosome, threesome, or foursome. There will be prizes on various holes and also raffle drawings.

MA Permanent Commission on the Status of Persons with Disabilities


The MA Permanent Commission on the Status of Persons with Disabilities is holding an Inaugural National Disability Employment Awareness month celebration at the State House on October 5 at 11am with remarks from Governor Healey and Representative Denise Garlick. 


As part of this celebration, they will be awarding businesses who strive to create and sustain authentic inclusion of persons with disabilities in the workplace. To help identify those businesses, they have created this nomination form. More information about the event can be found here.

Temporary Closure of Gental Dental Raynham


The Gentle Dental location in Raynham will be temporarily closed for practice improvements effective July 13th and anticipate a re-open date towards the end of 2023. Continued care is their priority, and they are excited to be able to offer multi-specialty dental care at their sister location in Milford, MA. Gentle Dental Milford is just 30 minutes away and will be able to support all patients and necessary treatment. The Raynham location will re-open for care at the end of 2023 upon practice improvement completion.

(R.A.V.E.) Raynham Community Day Meeting


The Raynham Association of Volunteers for Education, (R.A.V.E.), Inc., will host a special meeting on Monday, July 17, to begin planning Raynham Community Day 2023. The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the Donald McKinnon Municipal Meeting Room at Veterans Memorial Town Hall located at 558 South Main Street. Anyone who is interested in helping plan the event or who is interested in volunteering to help at the event or who wants information about participating in the event is invited to attend the meeting. "Taunton Leading City" Initiative to Promote Economic and Community Development


Mayor Shaunna O’Connell recently announced the creation of the “Taunton Leading City” (TLC) initiative to build long-term economic success for the City. The TLC initiative will consist of innovative programs to support local businesses, promote community and economic development, and provide residents with a helping hand when needed.  Read the press release.

Toxic Exposure Info Session


Veterans exposed to burn pits, Agent Orange, and other occupational toxic hazards, and their survivors may be entitled to additional VA healthcare and benefits.


Join the City of Taunton Department of Veterans Services and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs on Wednesday, July 26 from 6pm-8pm (Open House at 5pm) at Taunton City Hall Council Chambers (15 Summer Street) for more information.
