• Have your bulky waste to the curb on the Monday of the week Coastal will be in the area.
• Place your waste at least 3 feet away from mailbox, vehicle, fence, Cable box, post, etc.
• Please do not put under low hanging trees or power lines.
Like most municipalities in St. Tammany, our garbage and bulk debris is transported to Lacombe where it is transferred to larger trucks and then hauled to the Westbank of New Orleans. However, in Covington, our green waste is actually taken directly to our own dump near Lake Ramsey. Coastal pays us a fee to dump there. Hence, when possible, please keep your green waste separate from junk, bulk debris or construction waste.
*Hoppers are the workers that "hop" on and off the back of the truck. One can imagine how hard it is to find people to fill this type of job. This labor shortage is pushing many businesses more and more to automation.
