New Settlement to Host Head Start Program

We are thrilled to announce that Grand Street Settlement and New Settlement are partnering to bring Head Start to our neighborhood. Grand Street has been awarded a federal grant to provide Head Start at six sites in The Bronx, including our very own New Settlement Community Center. This partnership aims to create a lasting and positive impact for Bronx families.

  • Childcare costs in The Bronx are among the highest in the nation, with families spending 47% of their income.

  • Head Start Preschoolers experience greater success including higher graduation rates, better health, and become better parents for their own children.
