Metal Mart #49 in Gonzales, Louisiana is upgrading! The old location was much too small for the amount of material that passes through. Parking was always limited due to material being stored in the parking lot. Customers and employees typically had to park next door or in the shoulder of the side road. It was difficult to organize and stage orders as things were always stacked on top of one another. Employees sometimes had to stop traffic on the highway to allow trucks to back out. There certainly wasn't enough room for forklifts to maneuver around if there were more than a couple trucks waiting to be loaded or unloaded.

Even the warehouse and storage area in the back had very tight quarters that required constant perfect organization just to allow enough room for stock material and forklifts. Even when things were organized, a forklift with material on the forks barely had enough space in the drive to situate orders and stock.

Inside, there was very little room for product samples and stock items, as well as an extremely dated office space with an A/C that often stopped working in the heat of the Southern Louisiana summer. Needless to say, the environment at the old location cause a significant amount of challenges and frustration.

Metal Mart has been planning, preparing and ready for a new building for over a year. This new facility would ideally have room inside, outside and all around for the amount of material and volume of customers that the Gonzales store has been squeezing into their old, cramped facility. It has been an up-hill climb at times, and the store manager certainly considered throwing in the towel once or twice, but all the hard work and dedication is paying off in a big way.

The new facility has everything! From the pull around yard, to the massive parking lot, there is plenty of room for deliveries, customers, trailers and employees to park! Internal storage has definitely expanded not only in the warehouse to allow for additional stock, but also in the accessories room and show room which will now feature product samples from all our available panel systems. If you are a regular, don't worry! There is a special nook built in for your morning cup of Metal Mart coffee! To top it all off, the new sales desk features our newest panel in a specialty finish that pulls the new modern finishes in and ties everything together!
