Love of Reading Month

From our President:

Stamford Cradle to Career would like to commemorate the Celebration of Black History Month with the Love of Reading Literary Series. We would like to share with the community some of our favorite titles celebrating African American Authors. This great compilation of titles guarantees to inspire, enrich, and ignite your appreciation for great literature.

Join us at our upcoming Annual Convening - “Stamford Unites”. Our convening will expand into a multi-part community collective, one geared towards youth, another for parents, and a third for community partners. We look forward to seeing you there! March 10, 21 & April 11. This Series of events will share both experiences and resources to enhance the experiences of Stamford Families. 

Lastly, we would like to share that we are the grateful recipients of a grant from the U.S. Department of Education under their Full-Service Community Schools Program. This grant will allow us to expand our work with two Stamford Middle Schools, Dolan and Rippowam. These federal dollars will go a long way to support Stamford Cradle to Career’s mission to ensure that ALL Stamford children succeed in education, career, and life. As a part of this work we are expanded our SC2C team. We are seeking two Community Schools Managers, please see the job description here for more information.

Honor and Celebrate

Black History Month

It's Black History Month this February, and it's time to honor and celebrate black authors.

We have compiled a list of some of our favorite Black history books for people of all ages. This list of books celebrates and reflects the Black experience throughout Black History Month and throughout the year.

Representatives from local early childhood businesses and organizations will be on hand to network, talk about career opportunities, and current hiring needs.


Early Childhood Education scholarship information will be provided by Norwalk Community College and Charter Oak.

Phonemic Awareness- Stamford Public Schools (SPS) will share an overview of the early literacy curriculum and hand-on practice with strategies and tools used during the school day. This will allow out of school program staff to understand and feel prepared to support literacy development of elementary aged students, in alignment with what is taught in school.

STAMFORD UNITES - COMMUNITY COLLECTIVE

Stamford Cradle to Career's Annual Convening

We invite you to our 2023 SC2C Annual Convening Series "Stamford Unites", which will feature events for students, parents, and caregivers, as well as partner non-profits and community organizations. This is an exciting opportunity for our community to hear the thoughts and ideas of students and families. Through this collaborative work, we can continue to help all youth in Stamford succeed in education, career, and life.


Stamford Cradle to Career is a community-wide partnership with more than 60 active members, aligning resources to measurably improve the lives of Stamford children. We are a member of the StriveTogether national non-profit network of nearly 70 communities that have adopted the collective impact model.

Join Our SC2C Team: Community Schools Manager


This full-time position will be responsible for the facilitation, implementation, integration, coordination, and connectivity of the community school strategy at the site level.


The CS Coordinator is a position created to elevate the voices of teachers, school staff, parents, school-family council, community members, and students to design and implement programs and services at the school that meet the needs of students, their families, and the community.
