News from the Montana Council of Cooperatives!

The Montana Council of Cooperative's had an excellent Annual Meeting back in January. The Council's board is building on that momentum and is continuing forward with strategic development and updates for the organization.

As part of this effort by the Board, the MCOC team is completing an outreach to Council members. If you are a cooperative in Montana and a member of the Montana Council of Cooperatives can you take about 5 minutes and help us out by completing this survey? We hope to gather valuable feedback to enhance the Montana Council of Cooperative's services to the Montana Cooperative Community.

In addition to the strategic development work, the Montana Council of Cooperatives' Board is in the process of reviewing and updating the membership structures, benefits, and fees. Stay tuned for our August Newsletter for the updated membership structures.

Nicole Borner Takes

MCDC's Investment Cooperative

Program to Nebraska!

MCDC Cooperative Specialist, Nicole Borner spoke at the recent Connecting Entrepreneurial Communities (CEC) event in Sidney, Nebraska, shedding light on MCDC's crucial role in helping communities establish opportunity development cooperatives (ie. Investment Cooperatives) in Montana. She explained how MCDC provides technical support to steering committees, assisting them in creating investment cooperatives and connecting with key stakeholders in rural areas across the state. Nicole not only highlighted Montana's progress in cooperative business development but also shared valuable insights for community developers and organizers looking to implement similar strategies. By stressing the collaborative nature of this initiative, where cooperative developers nationwide exchange knowledge and experiences, Nicole emphasized the potential of collective efforts in fostering resilient, locally-driven economies.
