CARB is on the March

By Mike McManus, Director of Engineering Construction & Industry Relations

As Mark Twain famously said, “No man's life, liberty, or property are safe while the legislature is in session.” Thankfully, the legislative session is over for 2024. But we still aren't quite sure how that will shake out. are not sure what happened. The reason for that is with the “one-party rule” in Sacramento, some legislation that will impact us in the future slithers through with little debate or coverage in our news media. Or, the bill is written with vaguely aspirational legislation that typically gives massive authority to unelected bureaucrats and political appointees in the regulatory bureaucracies to fill in the blanks. In other words, to make law long after the bill is signed into law by the Governor.

Stop Procrastinating! Your Local Officials WANT YOU at AGC's Public Agency Showcase

Come for a special industry day geared around your needs! Come get your company recognized by being one of our members ready to discuss the latest with our local officials.

AGC's Public Agency Showcase is a don't-miss event. It's almost as exciting as a new bid coming out in the Plan Room that's right up your alley.

Who do you ask is going to be there? Caltrans, County of San Diego, City of San Diego, San Diego Airport Authority, SANDAG, and UCSD.

Why do we care? We’re pleased to honor our EGCA Foundation Honoree, the Filanc Family, and celebrate our student scholarship winners. Read more on Mark Filanc and his family's extraordinary impact on the construction industry here.

What's in it for me? As GCs and subcontractors working with local and federal governments, asking the right questions or getting some much-needed facetime when your onsite work or you're bidding on work in the future could be the one thing that makes your BD worth it!

Want to make an even stronger impact? Sign up for sponsorships and have your name sprinkled throughout our event to show all attending that you're serious about your local work.
