Dessert Buffet and Silent Auction

The Dessert Buffet and Silent Auction event will be held at the Ramada on Tuesday, February 14th from 1:00 – 3:00 pm. Desserts will include a variety of yummy treats.
Of course, there will be lots of chocolate, key lime pies, cherry dessert pizza, along with new and classic desserts. Those donating are reminded to bring your
desserts to the Ramada at 11:00 on Tuesday. Please do not cut them into serving sizes.
The Silent Auction will be ongoing from 1:00 – 2:30. Over 30 items and experiences have been donated for you to bid on. Here is a list of more items you may considered bidding on.
- Washington wines with meat and cheese basket
- Vanilla Savory Spa basket
- Pickleball paddles and balls
- North Dakota homegrown hamburger basket with other ND products
- Mesquite and Turquoise Coffee Table
- Sterling silver Scandinavian earrings
- Esperanza Estate handmade pottery snack plate
- Fundamentally Female basket
In addition, the EE Gardeners will have potted plants for sale as part of this fundraising event. Come join us for a delicious afternoon of fun, socializing and fundraising.

Gardeners Plant Sale

Gardeners are having a plant sale in conjunction with the EE Auction on February 14 between 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. The sale will be in Sunset Park next to the Ramada. Any Gardeners that would like to help can come at 12:30 to set up or later to help with the sale.

Special Reminder About Dog Waste

It is time for another reminder about dog waste. This is a friendly reminder that we are all responsible for collection of our dog's waste. The instances of uncollected waste have increased recently.....hence this "friendly" reminder.

Pickleball Education Program

Beginning the 13th of February, all levels (beginner thru advance) are welcome to participate in Drills and Skills classes on Mondays and Wednesdays. There has been much interest, and player development has been excellent. So, if you are interested in elevating your game and acquiring skills, plan on attending class from 11:00 to 12:30 on Monday and Wednesdays.
Coach
Every class will meet seven times and skill development will build on weekly instruction. Attending class is important to skill acquisition. Instructors will be Esperanza residents and myself, Sharon Welsh Falor.

Thirsty Thursday
It's Happy Hour this week! Thirsty Thursday is this Thursday, 4 pm, at the Ramada. This is an informal gathering of neighbors and friends. No one is hosting. Just BYO drink and an appetizer to share (if you'd like), eating utensils, and we all help clean up. Everyone is welcome. Come on over to the Ramada join us!

THE HOSPITALITY COMMITTEE INVITES YOU TO JOIN US FOR OUR ANNUAL OPTIMIST “2023 SAUSAGE FEST”!!!

Please join the Hospitality team as we host the Green Valley Optimist Club as they cook their “world famous” Italian sausages for EE’s much anticipated “Sausage Fest” on Tuesday, February 21 at the Ramada.
Dinner will include a sausage on a bun with optional grilled onions and green peppers and sauerkraut. Sides will include coleslaw, chips and cookies for dessert. As always, the Hospitality committee will provide complimentary beverages including wine, beer, soda, coffee and water. The cost of this wonderful dinner is $10.00. It is important to remember that this fee is for one full dinner per person. There will not be seconds on sausages offered without an additional cost. The Optimists have committed to cooking 150 sausages, so come early to assure that you will get your sausage.
All profits from this event will go to the Optimist Club to support their work in supporting kids’ programs throughout Green Valley. There will be Optimists Club members available to explain their mission.
Happy Hour will begin at 4:30 and dinner will begin around 5:00, when the sausages are fully cooked.

Crafty Crafters

I didn’t get a response from anyone regarding taking over the craft group. Today, Feb 9, is the last organized craft group until next fall. I may have some impromptu crafting at my house. If anyone is interested in being on a list for me to call, please let me know by email at bernieolson57@gmail.com. I hope to be able to resume the craft group next fall.

We Had a Wedding at Flag Park!!
Relatives of Al and Judy Prato were married recently at Esperanza Estates Flag Park in a lovely small ceremony. Not positive, but we think this is the first wedding at Flag Park. Congratulations to the happy couple!

GVCC Concert "Our Favorite Things"

Our annual Spring Concert will be held on Monday, March 20 at 7:00 pm and Tuesday, March 21 at 2:30 pm at Valley Presbyterian Church.
This concert is a compilation of the favorite pieces of the chorus members that we have sung throughout the years. Bach, Brahms, show tunes from Phantom of the Opera, Music Man, West Side Story, The Sound of Music, Hallelujah Chorus, and many other favorites.
Both concerts will be held at Valley Presbyterian Church on Camino del Sol. Tickets are $15 which can be purchased from any choir member including Linda Sielken, at the door, and at the Chamber of Commerce, Nancy Pantz, The Book Shop, and Creative Edges in the Duval Safeway mall.
