October 15: Blood Drive

Sardis Presbyterian Church is proud to sponsor our next blood drive with the American Red Cross on October 15, 2023 at 8:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. If you are eligible, please come out to donate. Most donations take about an hour, so please book your appointment, roll up your sleeve and become a part of the lifesaving mission of the Red Cross and Sardis. Click here to schedule your appointment.

Your Sardis Missions Ministry continues to create various work opportunities through the fall and into next year for Sardis Serves Together involving everyone - all ages, and all abilities. We hope you'll find one or more places to use your time and ability to show your Christian belief to love thy neighbor by word and by action. As you know, the gift of giving is the gift you receive.

CROP Hunger Walk

On November 12, join us for worship, education, a food packing mission project, and a walk for ALL ages of children, youth, and adults as we partner with CROP Hunger Walk Charlotte to end hunger one step at a time!

Sardis Rocks the Block with Habitat For Humanity

On Saturday, September 23, Sardis members along with members from the community served together at Greater Matthews Habitat For Humanity Rock the Block event. They spent the morning working in the Rainbow Ridge community painting, trimming, pressure washing, planting, and cleaning homes. Sardis volunteers were asked a lot about our Sardis Serves Together shirts. Everyone found many roles to fill, and lots of talking, sharing, and laughter. We finished with drinks, hot dogs and snacks from Matthews Rotary Club. There will be future similar events for Sardis Serves Together. Stay tuned!

New Partnership with Equity in Memory & Memorial (E2M)

A new partnership is forming with the E2M Program, Sardis Presbyterian Church, Grier Heights Presbyterian Church, and Ben Salem Presbyterian Church. Already, four leader advocates from Sardis and four leader advocates from Grier Heights were able to meet with co-founder and director of E2M, Rev. Dr. Julia Moore, and Moore Grace Ministries leader, Rev. Ricky Moore, earlier this month to explore how Moore Grace Ministries' use of educational training, peacebuilding workshops, and contemplative prayer practices are providing a structure and base that is helping et everyone's mind and spirit in the right place before we move forward with the work ahead.

We are excited Rev. Dr. Julia Moore and Rev. Ricky Moore will be the guest speakers for Faith Formation's next Courageous Conversation on Tuesday, October 24. We hope you will join us in the Sardis House at 6:30 to learn more about Sardis' participation in the E2M Program and the significance the historic slave burial grounds on our campus has on our church, the city of Charlotte, and new partnership with Grier Heights and Ben Salem. RSVP here.
