Check out what a week serving with BBI looks like!

A Comedor is like a soup kitchen that provides much-needed food to hungry struggling families. We have had the privilege of serving with Comedor Genesis since we moved here early this year. Last month, we had the opportunity to learn more about Mayela's (the founder's) vision for the Comedor. As a result, the decision was made to transform the Comedor into a place where the Word of God is shared FIRST before providing physical food.

"Man cannot live by bread alone, but by every word from the mouth of God." (Matthew 4:4)

Since then, Blessing Bags International and the local church community have been blessed with the privilege of speaking and sharing God's word before each meal at the Comedor. People have been opening up and sharing their hearts, requesting prayers for various difficult situations, such as spousal abuse and drug addiction. In a remarkable incident, a woman who had lost her hearing in her right ear had her hearing RESTORED, and last week a man GAVE HIS LIFE TO JESUS and was baptized yesterday! God is working in extraordinary ways. 🙌🏼❤️

Last week, we set a challenge for those who attend. Anyone who memorized scripture would receive a special blessing in the form of Dispensa (a blessing bag of essential food). It was amazing to see their enthusiasm to recite scripture in front of everyone and how beautiful it was to hear others cheering them on!

Each month, we provide this comedor with a GIANT blessing bag with a month's worth of food and other necessities. Last month, we were able to replace their broken and taped-together blender. This month, one of their requests is a broom.

Very few of the people being served at the Comedor had Bibles. Thanks to our financial supporters, we had the privilege of providing them with Bibles and reading glasses last month.

Please join us in prayer, asking for the necessary resources to continue blessing the Comedor. Additionally, pray that God's work will continue to touch the hearts of all who come through the doors and for many more to come to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior!

Allison’s Story from a Mission Trip to

Mexico with BBI

It is hard to put into words what our recent mission trip to Baja California, Mexico with Blessing Bags International meant to me. We went to bless the less fortunate, but we were the ones who ended up profoundly blessed. It is with such heartfelt gratitude that I share my experience and the profound impact it has had on my and my childrens' lives, in the hopes that it will inspire other families to take the leap and serve a mission trip with BBI.

During every aspect of our trip, BBI exhibited attention to detail, organization, and a genuine love and compassion for the people who we were serving. But the one aspect that impressed me the most, was how intentionally the experience had been planned with an eye toward the goal of modeling for and growing servants' hearts in each of the young team members (who ranged in age from 3-17).

The mission trip provided us with many different opportunities to demonstrate Christ's love to the people of Mexico. BBI's meticulous planning ensured that we were well-prepared to serve and bring hope to the communities we visited. Whether it was visiting a comedor (soup kitchen), offering dispensa (food care packages) door-to-door to those in need, playing with children at a local orphanage, distributing donated clothing and shoes, or sharing prayer and Scripture, we were repeatedly reminded of the profound impact of small acts of love and care.

Despite enduring daily struggles and living conditions that are difficult to even fathom, again and again we witnessed the fruit of the spirit in the joyful hearts of those who know and love the Lord. This lesson has impacted me probably more than any other aspect of the trip - that regardless of our earthly circumstances, God's love can transform hearts and bring hope and light amidst darkness. I am so very grateful to have had the opportunity to bring this experience to my children. And it made quite an impact on them too. I can't tell you how many times they have asked me when we are returning to Mexico! Thank you Blessing Bags International, for this incredible experience!!
