ICU baby's community partnership with the Healthy Start Coalition of Miami-Dade (HSCMD) has allowed us to extend the support of our families well beyond the walls of our local NICUs. We are forever grateful to Manny Fermin, CEO of HSCMD, whose leadership and vision enabled ICU baby to offer comprehensive support to our families in their greatest times of need. One memorable example is Mommy Smith, who struggled with postpartum depression and had no access to mental health care. Manny and his team stepped in to get her the appointment she needed to start her journey to wellness. For this reason and many more, we are incredibly sad to share the news of Manny's passing on March 17, 2022. With 25 years of service at HSCMD, Manny's legacy serves as an inspiration to ICU baby to continue to support and advocate for mothers and babies in Miami Dade. Read more.

ICU baby hosted its signature fundraising event, “The Celebration of Miracles,” on Thursday, May 26, at the Mr. C hotel in Coconut Grove.   The Honorary Chairs of the 4th annual gala were Miami Mayor Francis Suarez & his wife, ICU baby Board Member, Gloria Fonts Suarez. Building a Strong NICU Support Infrastructure for the Future ICU baby is proud to have been selected as 1 of 5 organizations supported by Leadership Miami of the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce. This diverse team of professionals is creating the first-ever Respite Room for the NICU at Holtz Children's Hospital. The Respite Room will provide a private and secluded space for families of critically ill babies in their greatest time of need, allowing them to spend their last moments with their child in peace. The team also has plans to help us grow our NICU community with an online Family Forum.
