Independent Living Services For Youth | |

Red Cliff's Independent Living Services is a youth-driven program to help make the transition into adulthood successful. Program staff help youth in court-ordered foster care, or youth who have exited out of foster care to achieve success in transitioning into adulthood. In Red Cliff we are currently working with youth 14 to 23 years old by providing resources, allyship, guidance, and education.
Areas of Focus
Our program focuses on high school education, post-secondary education, career exploration, employment, housing, home maintenance, transportation, health and medical, healthy marriage, financial self-sufficiency, community resources, permanency/connections, vital documents, and youth identified goals. Youth achieve these goals through planning, education, training, activities, and support.
No-Cost Program
The program is free to those who qualify. Please see contact information below to see if you or someone you know is eligible for this program.
Office Location:
This program is not part of Red Cliff ICW, but we are located in the ICW building at 37250 Water Tower Road in Red Cliff.

PUBLIC LAW 102-477 THREE-YEAR PLAN
October 1, 2024 – September 30, 2027
“Providing individualized, wrap-around services and coordination to meet the educational and workforce goals of our tribal members”
Hearing Date: Monday, July 22, 2024
TIME: 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
LOCATION: Legendary Waters Resort & Casino
Purpose: The Red Cliff Tribe will be holding a public hearing to discuss the 2024-2027 Public Law 102-477 Plan for Employment, Training, and Related Services. The draft plan proposes to consolidate up to thirteen (13) federal grant programs to improve employability, employment opportunities and training outcomes for the Red Cliff Community. Programs identified for inclusion in Red Cliff’s 477 Plan include Childcare and Development Fund (CCDF), Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), Tribal Child Support Enforcement (IV-D), General Assistance (GA), Job Placement and Training (TPA/Functional Area: A0C90), Living Languages Grant Program, and several others.
Learn how Red Cliff’s 477 Plan will integrate services to improve community access employability and supportive services to meet Red Cliff’s Tribal Priorities. A presentation will be given of the draft plan and printed copies will be available to view during the hearing. The community is invited to provide feedback and input on the draft plan. This input will be considered when completing the final plan.
About Pub. L. 102-477: Public Law 102-477 (usually referred to simply as “477”) is the Indian Employment, Training and Related Services Demonstration Act (25 U.S.C. 3401 et seq). The primary goal of the law is to reduce unemployment rates within tribal communities by providing effective workforce development programs. Public Law 102-477 allows federally recognized tribes to consolidate funding from various federal employment, training, and related services programs into a single self-governance plan that tailors programs to meet the needs of their communities by coordinating services, improving program outcomes, and streamlining participant and administrative requirements.
A meal and refreshments will be provided.
Please contact the Tribal Administration Building with any questions at 715-779-3700.

1934 Project Accepting Submissions
We need your help! Share your family photos
| |
|
90 years ago this April, a census was taken of Red Cliff members. With the Indian Reorganization Act of that year and the 1935-36 Constitution, this census became one of the two base rolls for Red Cliff membership.
To commemorate this anniversary, the Enrollment Office is looking for a photograph of every Red Cliff tribal member around at that time. Eventually, we hope to add personal memories and stories, digitally archive the material, and make it all available to the public.
Click HERE to see the list of members or to submit photos and material online.
We need your help! There are two ways to share your family photos with the 1934 Project. Click the button below or bring material to the admin office during normal work hours. We can scan photos on the spot and return the originals to you. Email rcenrollment@redcliff-nsn.gov with any questions or feedback. Miigwech!
This week, we went into the Belanger Settlement Archives for photos. A big thank you goes to Linda Gordon, Andy Bastin, and the THPO Office for these pictures of Franklin Basina, Virginia “Gena” Defoe, and a large group of Red Cliff youth in the World War II era. The group of kids is a clipping from a 2004 edition of Bob Bear’s Red Cliff News. If we can track down a better copy, we’ll include all the names.
