1934 Project Accepting Submissions

We need your help! Share your family photos

90 years ago this April, a census was taken of Red Cliff members. With the Indian Reorganization Act of that year and the 1935-36 Constitution, this census became one of the two base rolls for Red Cliff membership.

To commemorate this anniversary, the Enrollment Office is looking for a photograph of every Red Cliff tribal member around at that time. Eventually, we hope to add personal memories and stories, digitally archive the material, and make it all available to the public.

Click HERE to see the list of members or to submit photos and material online.

We need your help! There are two ways to share your family photos with the 1934 Project. Click the button below or bring material to the admin office during normal work hours. We can scan photos on the spot and return the originals to you. Email rcenrollment@redcliff-nsn.gov with any questions or feedback. Miigwech!

Thanks to Thomas Beauregard for sharing the photo of your father Bernard “Kotchi” Beauregard (left) and Lyle “Corky” Morrin (right) on the 1935 Bayfield basketball team. Also thanks to Linda Gordon for the photo of your grandfather Lawrence Butterfield (see below). If you can identify Chief Buffalo’s Grandchildren below, (found in a 1916 article in the Indian Sentinel magazine) please let us know. Chief Buffalo, in this context, is Chief Shishib or J. Antoine Buffalo.

GLIFWC Executive Administrator Jason Schlender also spoke about the importance of Walt's legacy, treaty rights, and how we must remain vigilant in our education and outreach of our people, language, and culture. RCCHC Ends Provider-Patient Social Media Communication

Attention Red Cliff Community Health Center patients:

RCCHC providers will not respond to healthcare messages through social media, including Facebook or Facebook Messenger. This will not affect the quality of care you receive from your provider. The best way to contact your medical team is by calling the Health Center at 715-779-3707.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, social media was widely used for health-related purposes such as health interventions, health campaigns, medical education, and disease outbreak surveillance. During that time, it was easy for patients to communicate through social media with their health providers. However, there are many challenges the medical team encounters when a patient sends messages through social media, including unreliable health information, patient privacy, misinformation impact, data security, ethical dilemmas, patient-provider boundaries, and more.

Our RCCHC providers will continue to provide the best care possible for you, and communicating through the proper channels will allow them to provide that care with consistency and quality. Please remember to call the Health Center at 715-779-3707 to contact your health provider.

If you have any questions or concerns about this, please contact Clinic Manager Lisa Cadotte at 715-779-3707 ext 2270.
