What Does A Stable Home Looke Like To You?

Stop by the New Hope Satellite office on April 3rd between 10am to 4pm or on April 4 between 8am to 10:30am and share your thoughts on what stability in the home looks like to you and get a $15 gift card. Please call 715-779-3744 ext 3514 with any questions.

Michele Statz, Associate Professor at UMD Medical School, is working with Red Cliff and RCCHA’s Weweni Gigiiwewag - Housing Stability Court. She will be offering the gift certificates as incentive to answer a few questions of what our tribal members think matters most to be stably housed. The walk-in session will last no more than 15 minutes.

When we think of a stable home life, what does that look like to each individual? No home is perfect; however, every home should feel stable. We all have our ideas of what that looks like. Maybe it should be the sanctuary or haven for a family. Maybe it is about work-life balance, affordability to head of household so they can provide for the family. We can all agree it should be a sound building, keep us safe from the elements, be in a safe neighborhood. Knowing that you can face other challenges as long as your home is safe, and you have shelter to provide for yourself and loved ones. It can be all of those things, different things or one particular idea. There are no wrong answers.
