Spring Enrollment Opens Today
for Young Performer Academy
Enrollment for the Spring session of Actor Factory Academy will open at 12:00 pm today, Monday, November 6. Young Performers aged 8-15 have their choice of either Tuesday or Thursday nights to spend the spring semester in total immersion in on-camera acting. Weekly classes begin the week of January 22.
The fall semester Academy sold out within a matter of days.
On one night per week for 14 weeks, students will receive fun and specialized training from industry professionals in subjects like auditioning, improvisation, building a character, and on-camera acting. They will build friendships and hone communication skills while working together with other students to build scenes and characters. Our spring semester ends in an exciting showcase for friends and family!
The Academy was conceptualized by Factory Young Performer instructor Bethany Bourland, a casting assistant at Freihofer Casting who has taught acting classes and camps to kids for years.
"In my nine years of teaching acting I have found that kids flourish when they receive training and feedback from a variety of professionals," Bourland said. "Learning to work under numerous teachers not only keeps the training fresh but also allows kids to be comfortable performing for anyone! Now all that training is available in one weekly class."

Bourland will be joined by four other teaching artists: Casting Associate and professional actor Tiffany Feese, Award-winning filmmaker and editor Chris Oz McIntosh, improv artist and video producer Zach Delaune and casting director and professional actor Chris Freihofer.
"I am so excited to start the spring session," said Bourland. "One of my favorite things about teaching is watching a group of students who barely know each other at the beginning of class build friendships and grow together. Now we will have an entire semester to work as a team and grow as actors!
Unlike many acting studios, The Actor Factory Academy insists on keeping classes small so attention can be individualized. Only 14 students are permitted to enroll in The Academy this semester.
As an added bonus, Bourland indicated all on-camera work in class will be posted on a secure video link so parents can track their student's work and performance each work. The final showcase performance in May will be a mix of live scene work, improv performance and filmed scenes.
The Actor Factory Young Performer Academy will meet on Tuesday nights from 5:00-6:45 pm or on Thursdays from 7:00-8:45 pm.There will be no class March 19-23. The class is open to beginning or advanced actors aged 8-15. Cost for the entire session is $375. Payment can be made in whole up front or in monthly installments.
A non refundable deposit of $75 is required for enrollment.

L.A. Headshot Photographer
Visits The Factory December 2-3
Los Angeles headshot photographer Jeffrey Nicholson will make his final 2017 visit to Oklahoma December 2-3 and is now taking appointments at The Actor Factory.
Nicholson has shot hundreds of celebrities, thousands of up-and-comers, and is coming back to shoot you.
"You may have a friend with a great camera, or you know a fantastic commercial or portrait photographer that can get you a great deal, but a professional headshot photographer brings a wealth of different knowledge to the game," said Actor Factory Director and Founder Chris Freihofer, who has brought Nicholson to Oklahoma for over 20 years. "If it's time to take your acting career to the next level, Jeffrey is the guy to do it. He knows how to shoot actors and he knows what filmmakers are looking for in a headshot."
With years in the ever-changing business, Nicholson understands the current trends in Los Angeles for actors' headshots, and he will work with you to target for specific looks. He is conscious of what casting directors and filmmakers are looking for in headshots, and will talk to you about what kinds of roles you need to target for.
"Getting your headshots taken by your friend is a fine and affordable way to start you career," Freihofer said. "But when it is time to go to the next level and to be considered for larger, more professional roles, you will need to up your game. The headshot is the first place to start."

Travis Linville Plays The Showroom This Sunday
He's been called the "father of contemporary Oklahoma roots music". He started playing in bars with a fake I.D. at age 17. He produced John fullbright's first album, He taught a 9-year-old Parker Millsap how to play guitar. Earlier this year Rolling Stone Magazine called him one of "the 10 country artists you should know."
On November 12, legendary Oklahoma singer-songwriter Travis Linville will play an intimate performance at The Factory Showroom inside The Actor Factory's Studio 2.
Linville will perform an acoustic "storytellers"-type set in the comfortable, 40-seat Factory Showroom, showcasing his original music that has delighted audiences around the globe. Linville's name is synonymous with contemporary Oklahoma roots music and can easily be considered the godfather of the sound that has swept the nation.
