MLOHT RECOGNIZES THE NATIONAL DAY FOR MISSING AND MURDERED INDIGENOUS WOMEN AND GIRLS

The MLOHT team gathered this week to discuss the upcoming National Day for Murdered and Missing Indigenous Women and Girls, which is this Sunday, May 5. The team discussion, lead by Eric Hendrick, MLOHT Indigenous Health Lead, highlighted the need for more cultural awareness and safety within Middlesex London. The team continued their commitment to reconciliation through a visual display of red hands, often a symbol associated with this movement.

These tragedies of missing and murdered Indigenous Women and Girls are often compounded by systemic neglect, inadequate support services, and historical injustices.

In addressing this crisis, it's crucial to center Indigenous voices, prioritize community-led solutions, and advocate for systemic changes to address the root causes of violence against Indigenous women and girls. By fostering greater awareness, empathy, and action, we can work towards justice, healing, and a future where all Indigenous lives are valued and protected.
