Updates & Announcements from Methodist Temple

All-Church Meal on August 4th

After our 10:00a.m. combined worship service on Sunday, August 4th, we will have an all-church lunch in Fellowship Hall! Join us for a kid-friendly meal of tacos and pizza immediately following the service. We are still looking for volunteers to help set-up and serve the meal. If you are willing to volunteer your time, please call the church office at 812-476-1306.

Ladies Night Out

Join us for our last Ladies' Night Out this Friday, August 2nd at 6:00pm at Escape Evansville. In this themed escape room, we will try to help Taylor Swift escape the relentless paparazzi and make it back to her apartment to get ready in time for her show.

Can't make it to the "Taylor's Closet" Escape Experience? Join us for dinner at 7:30 at Bud's Bar & Grill.

Please RSVP as soon as possible to Cass Brusie, cbrusie@methodisttemple.church.

Methodist Temple Shirts

The new Methodist Temple shirts have arrived! If you pre-ordered, you are able to pay for and pick-up your shirt at Connection Central starting this Sunday. As a reminder, the shirts are $20 each. We do not have any extra shirts available for purchase at this time.

Methodist Temple Columbarium

The Methodist Temple Board of Trustees is gauging interest in building a second Columbarium tower. The Trustees are requesting the congregation to express interest via deposits toward the purchase of their own niche. If you are interested in having a niche, please contact the church office to submit a $100 deposit before the end of the year. If there are 20 deposits by year end, then the Trustees will start the process of building a second tower. The total cost per niche is expected to be approximately $1000. In order to retain your niche you would need to pay the balance due once the tower is built. If we do not get 20 deposits by year end, your deposit will be returned to you and we will discontinue consideration of a second tower.

What is a Columbarium?

A columbarium is a structure with niches for funeral urns to be stored. The columbarium at Methodist Temple is the large stone structure in the memory garden to the west of the sanctuary that has brass drawers called niches. These niches contain the cremated remains of members of our church. The first tower of 84 niches was built in 2004 and all niches have been sold. There are foundations and space for two more Columbarium towers at Methodist Temple.

It is their vision that our community will be transformed by educating youth on the life skills necessary to be successful and free from the cycle of abuse, poverty, crime, and trauma.
