Join us for a kid-friendly meal of tacos and pizza immediately following the service. We are asking our congregation to help provide a few desserts and the items for the taco bar. We are also looking for volunteers to help set-up and serve the meal. Meet Our New Bishop: Bishop Tracy S. Malone

Bishop Tracy S. Malone has been assigned as the resident bishop for the Indiana Conference of The United Methodist Church, effective September 1, 2024. She was elected to the episcopacy at the 2016 North Central Jurisdictional Conference and has served as the resident bishop of the East Ohio Conference ever since.

Methodist Temple Shirts

The new Methodist Temple shirts have arrived! If you pre-ordered, you are able to pay for and pick-up your shirt at Connection Central starting this Sunday. As a reminder, the shirts are $20 each. We do not have any extra shirts available for purchase at this time.

Methodist Temple Columbarium

The Methodist Temple Board of Trustees is gauging interest in building a second Columbarium tower. The Trustees are requesting the congregation to express interest via deposits toward the purchase of their own niche. If you are interested in having a niche, please contact the church office to submit a $100 deposit before the end of the year. If there are 20 deposits by year end, then the Trustees will start the process of building a second tower. The total cost per niche is expected to be approximately $1000. In order to retain your niche you would need to pay the balance due once the tower is built. If we do not get 20 deposits by year end, your deposit will be returned to you and we will discontinue consideration of a second tower.

What is a Columbarium?

A columbarium is a structure with niches for funeral urns to be stored. The columbarium at Methodist Temple is the large stone structure in the memory garden to the west of the sanctuary that has brass drawers called niches. These niches contain the cremated remains of members of our church. The first tower of 84 niches was built in 2004 and all niches have been sold. There are foundations and space for two more Columbarium towers at Methodist Temple.

Ronald McDonald House

Members of our congregation recently prepared a meal at the Ronald McDonald House, which is one of our annual Missional Partners. Thank you for serving in our community!

If you're interested in volunteering at the Ronald McDonald House, contact the church office at 812-476-1306.

July Missional Partner

This month's missional partner is the United Methodist Youth Home.

The United Methodist Youth Home helps at-risk youth become productive and responsible members of our community. It is their vision that our community will be transformed by educating youth on the life skills necessary to be successful and free from the cycle of abuse, poverty, crime, and trauma. Visit their website here and watch the video below to see how you can get involved!
