Many people have asked us the difference between Micro Needling and a Viva Treatment. Both procedures are very similar, however the Viva treatment goes beyond the capabilities of a pure Micro Needling procedure.
Micro Needling in a procedure that makes small punctures in the surface of the skin that allows Collagen and Elastin to rise to the surface thus rejuvenating the skin with a smoother and more vibrant appearance.
The Viva treatment is similar to Micro Needling in that the device makes small punctures in the surface of the skin that allows Collagen and Elastin to rise to the surface. The main difference between the two is that, with the Viva Treatment, I can (as an Aethetician) control the depth and size of the puncture in the skin. The deeper the puncture and the larger the puncture allows more Collagen and Elastin to rise to the surface. As a side note, the punctures are not visible,
Another benefit of the Viva Treatment versus a typical Micro Needling procedure is that the Viva Treatment provides better coverage and uniformity of the punctures. Each time the Viva tip is triggered on the surface of the skin, the wand creates 160 punctures.
Downtime is minimal. Most patients notice some redness of the skin that usually last no more than 24 hours. We recommend three treatments of the Viva spread out over a three month time period for maximum results. We also perform Viva Treatments on patients that are looking to eliminate scars, stretch marks and dark spots.
