Mews Flash:
Furrbulous Rescue Flights!
Say hello to some of our recent arrivals! These rescue kitties were transported in style via private plane!
A great example of how we’re stretching our paws to save at-risk cats from euthanasia is our partnership with Pilots N Paws, a nonprofit animal transport organization. We are so grateful for their volunteer pilots, who have now transferred five groups of rescue kitties from Fresno to local airports in San Carlos and Palo Alto in the past two months.

Upon arrival at Nine Lives, the cats are examined, spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and then sheltered at our Adoption Center while they await their forever homes. Some may require more intensive medical attention and a little extra TLC, like Glowbug, the handsome fella pictured below who came to us with a severely wounded leg. After receiving an amputation at the Nine Lives clinic, Glowbug spent some time recuperating before making his Adoption Center debut. Glowbug's sweet and loving nature shone through immediately, and he was adopted the very same day he became available. We wish him and his forever family all the best!

We are thrilled to be regularly rescuing kitties from the Bay Area and beyond, and giving more cats a chance for a happy ending. But we can't do it without your support! Your donations will help us save more at-risk kitties like Glowbug.

Take Me Home Tonight!
Sylvie Edition
Meet Sylvie, a striking gray tabby with emerald green eyes. She’s got the blood of an ambassador in her because she likes to greet everyone in the clinic lobby and even hang out with us in the restroom. (That’s why we nicknamed her “Bathroom Cat!”)
She’s cute and cuddly, yet 9-year-old Sylvie is very overweight, which puts her at risk of significant health problems like diabetes and heart disease. One of our veterinarians described her as a 9 lb. cat in an 18 lb. body.... inside, there’s a ballerina trying to come out! She's been a "free roamer" at the Nine Lives clinic, where it's hard to keep Sylvie on a strict diet or get her enough exercise.
Sylvie’s got some quirks. Before coming to Nine Lives she had been declawed (a barbaric practice now illegal in many states), which means she lacks her natural defenses. That doesn’t mean she won’t let you know when you touch her in a place she doesn’t like! Still, this special love bug enjoys head rubs all day long! Above the neck is the key.
Right now, Sylvie sports a "reverse mohawk" haircut. Because of her size, she couldn't reach her back to fully groom herself, and she started to get mats and dandruff. But her lovely tabby coat will grow back!
Sylvie needs a foster home with love and patience that will help her stick to her weight-loss plan and give her lots of exercise, including playing with her several times a day. She is not a fan of other cats so would be best either as a single cat, or somewhere where she can have her own space and keep her distance. (She's used to the clinic where there are always lots of cats — she just doesn't want to be too up-close and personal with them!)
Can you give Sylvie the healthy home she needs so she can live her best life? If so, please call us at (650) 368-1365 to learn more!

We're about a third of the way to our goal of raising $30,000 by July 1st, with less than a week to go. Your donations will help us rescue more cats, provide life-saving treatment to more cats, and find loving, forever homes for more cats.
You can also support us by purchasing items from our Amazon or Chewy wish lists, providing much-needed supplies such as food, toys, and cleaning products.
No matter how much or how you give, your continued support makes what we do possible year after year. On behalf of all the rescue kitties now living comfortably in their forever homes, we are so grateful.
