Message from Dr. Adriana Tamez

Tejano Center President & CEO

Neighbors & Friends:

I am humbled and deeply moved by the extraordinary dedication of our Tejano Center team and various community partners during these challenging times. Despite facing personal hardships and enduring power outages, our staff has shown remarkable resilience in serving our community amidst recent disasters. Their unwavering commitment ensured that essential food and water reached our Nueva Vida residents and seniors in Pasadena, with La Tiendita alone providing critical food assistance to over 400 households.

There is a profound sense of fulfillment in giving back and aiding others in times of crisis. The selfless actions of our team embody the spirit of our mission at Tejano Center, and I am privileged to serve our great region with such compassionate individuals.

I also wish to extend special recognition to our custodial staff, who have worked tirelessly through power outages to prepare our schools for the upcoming school year in less than four weeks. Their dedication behind the scenes is integral to our success and is deeply appreciated.

We are immensely grateful to our community partners whose unwavering support has been instrumental. Through their collaboration, volunteers, food, water, and essential resources have been provided to those in need. Special thanks go to the Houston Food Bank, Walmart, State Representative Mary Ann Perez, Commissioner Adrian Garcia, Mayor Jeff Wagner, Constable Jerry Garcia, Council Member Joaquin Martinez, Airbnb.org, and the Pasadena Chamber of Commerce among many for their invaluable contributions.

As we continue our efforts in disaster recovery, I urge you to join us in making a difference. Your donation to Tejano Center enables us to sustain our critical assistance to those most affected. To learn more about our initiatives and how you can make a contribution to help us continue Making It Happen Together, please visit tejanocenter.org. Thank you for your ongoing support and generosity.

Warm immense gratitude,
