Modern Pop Art Experience and Collage Workshop with Michael Albert 

Join us on Monday, July 8 for Summer Reading fun for the whole family! New York Modern Pop Artist, Michael Albert will lead a workshop where attendees will make their own collage masterpiece.

Panel Submissions

Mesa County Libraries 10th Annual Comic Con on September 20-21, is looking for panels covering just about any Comic Con topic you can imagine! Some examples include comics, anime, sci-fi, fantasy, games, representation, cosplay, literature, filmmaking, and art demonstrations. A limited number of programs will be accepted, and panel applicants are asked to develop, research, and plan their ideas carefully and professionally. All panels must be 60 minutes in length. Proposals are due by July 31, 2024.

Artist in Residence

You could be the next Mesa County Libraries Artist in Residence! Call for artists goes live on Monday, July 15. Applications are due by 8 p.m. Monday, August 26.

Applicants will be notified of application status via email by September 3.

Call for Artists: 10th Annual Comic Con

Artwork is being sought for the Mesa County Libraries Comic Con Juried Art Show, displayed from August 30 to October 24 at multiple library locations. There are three age categories for artists (11 and under, 12-18, and 19 and older). Cash prizes will be awarded to each age group. Artwork should be appropriate for all ages and follow the spirit of Comic Con, which highlights graphic literature, sequential art, and comics as a literary medium. Acceptable entries should be original art relevant to pop-culture entertainment comics, sci-fi, fantasy, fan art, and original characters.

Library Partnering with Community

Food Bank This Summer

This summer, the library is excited to work with the Community Food Bank to host their Mobile Food Pantry at the library. They will be distributing free fresh produce to anyone that needs it.

Join us to celebrate the Clifton community! We will be announcing the winners of the first ever Clifton Community Art Show. All are welcome!

Eye Love Fruita Art Reception

Join us 5:30- 6:30 p.m. Friday, July 26 to celebrate community, art, and what makes Fruita special at The Eye Love Fruita Juried Art Reception!


Join local artist Carlee Burnett as she leads a hands-on activity with attendees to help create a community mosaic that will be added to the Fruita Branch Library's permanent art collection.


Juror, Michelle Cools, artist and owner of The Vintage Common, will announce the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners. Honoraria is generously provided by The Friends of the Mesa County Libraries. Light snacks and refreshments will be served!

Writer's Notebook Re-imagined: Collage Your Way to Inspiration

Join Artist in Residence Nicole Rivas to customize a writer's notebook with a collage makeover, turning it into an artistic space to spark your creativity and inspire your writing. Supplies included and registration is required.
