FAFSA Drop-In Hours This Week
Mrs. Bennetts will be hosting drop-in FAFSA help this week. Students who have not completed their FAFSA, or have not begun their FAFSA are invited to stop in the counseling office during the following drop-in times to get started. The new FAFSA is initiated by students. Parents and guardians are invited to contribute once the student creates their account.
Students will need their social security number to complete the first portion of the FAFSA. Additionally, they will need the email address, social security number, and the birthdate of their parent/legal guardian.
The State of Michigan has created the Michigan Achievement Scholarship which unlocks funding for Michigan students attending a school in Michigan. This scholarship is based on FAFSA data. Additionally, many colleges award students FAFSA completion grants just for completing the FAFSA.
We know the roll-out of the new FAFSA has been rocky and we are here to support you in this part of the process. If you have submitted a FAFSA, please make sure you log in to the account to make sure your FAFSA has been processed and you do not have any corrections to be made.
Any Michigan student who completes the FAFSA by June 30th can enter the contest to win free pizza for a year!
FAFSA drop in hours: May 1st - Wednesday - 1, 2, 3 & May 2nd - Thursday - 4, 5, 6, 7

Action Alert: Non-Public Schools Safety and Mental Health Funds in Jeopardy
Nonpublic schools across Michigan will lose $18 million in school safety and mental health funding if the current state budget proposal is approved, prompting the Michigan Catholic Conference and the Michigan Association of Nonpublic Schools to issue an Action Alert to grassroots advocates.
Mercy High School has been a recipient of this important funding that has helped us to continually enhance school safety and security measures. We urge you to send a message to your lawmaker to let them know how important it is to include non-public schools in this opportunity and ensure the protection of all Michigan students! All Michigan students deserve to be safe!
