For our final newsletter of 2020, all of us at the French-American Foundation extend our sincere thanks to the members of our generous community for supporting us throughout the year. Because of your help, we’ve adapted to unexpected challenges, expanded our programs, and maintained crucial dialogue between France and the United States.
Back in March, we quickly realized the importance of staying in contact with our network around the globe after moving our programming entirely online. Beginning with a handful of newsletters and public webinars, we transformed our original program agenda into a new set of digital initiatives. Across 45 online events since then, and in collaboration with longstanding partners and new allies, we welcomed over 500 guests and more than 100 speakers and moderators, from The Embassy of France in the United States, French Institute Alliance Française (FIAF), French Morning, NaTakallam, and The Pew Research Center to PSA North America, Higher Heights for America, More in Common, Cyber Threat Alliance, and many more.
We found new ways to adapt our traditional programs to this new platform, as well. The annual Young Leaders seminar took place via Zoom in October with the French and American classes of 2019 and 2020. We hosted our annual Cyber Security Conference in December via Microsoft Teams with experts from government, business, and the military. In addition, our Transatlantic Forum is up and running every month – entirely online. We even developed the Young Leaders Café, a new virtual initiative that brings together Young Leaders on a monthly basis to discuss topics of common interest and build connections within the alumni community.
