LABOR MANAGEMENT AND NURSE PRACTICE COMMITTEE MEETINGS

Your Union Contract provides an opportunity to meet with management to discuss ways to improve working conditions in your day-to-day activities.

 

The goal is to create a mutually respectful environment to discuss your concerns regarding:

  • Nurse/Patient safety,
  • Training in new wound care/equipment,
  • Hours of work,
  • Documentation time,  
  • Articles in your current contract

We will not discuss contract changes.

Contract changes will be discussed at negotiations.

2023 MEETINGS WILL BE HELD IN THE

BORDENTOWN OFFICE AT 10:00 AM:

MARCH 7th, MAY 16th, SEPTEMBER 6th, & NOVEMBER 7th.

Please note that we must meet at least 2 weeks prior to create an agenda for the meetings.

ARTICLE 8

NURSING PRACTICE AND LABOR MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE

(PAGES 10-11 OF YOUR UNION CONTRACT)

Section 1: The parties agree to maintain a Nursing Practice and Labor Management Committee (“NPLMC”) which shall concern itself with matters related to professional nursing practice, including, but not limited to, productivity issues and matters of interest in the improvement of the Employer’s nursing operations.


Section 2: Structure of the Committee: The NPLMC shall consist of up to four (4) members. Each of the parties to this Agreement shall appoint no less than two (2) members to serve on the Committee on an annual basis. Each member will serve a two-year term, and new members will be appointed on alternate years and may serve consecutive terms.


Section 3: Meetings shall be held at mutually agreed times and shall be scheduled every three months at the same specified date and time no more than 2 hours unless otherwise agreed upon by both parties.. The members of the Local attending such committee meetings shall not lose time or pay for time so spent.


Section 4: It is not a function of the Committee to concern itself with matters subject to grievance or negotiations. Agenda items will be shared with both parties a week prior to the meeting. Minutes will be taken by the Local Designee.


Section 5: The parties agree that the Committee will be advisory and communicative in nature. All recommendations will be strongly considered and implementation depends on majority approval. Matters discussed regarding. Nursing Practice shall not be subject to the grievance procedure or arbitration.
