Executive Director’s Share:
Hello Beautiful Black parents/caregivers of Beautiful Black Children & Adults.
What happens at the intersection of mental health, and the experience as a member of the Black community? What happens when there is an intersection of being Black in America, Mental Health and a parent of a beautiful Black child(ren) who may also be experiencing challenges associated with a developmental disability? What if that same child(ren) is experiencing co-occurring (developmental and mental health) diagnoses for example Autism & Anxiety or Cerebral Palsy & Bi-polar? View the resources below that will provide some insight into co-occurring diagnosis and resources to promote wellness in the Black community.
The burden of stress of navigating resources is real for our families. It is essential that we access resources for ourselves as parents so that we may be healthy and whole so that we may serve our family at our best. Everyday I take a 30 minute walk after the kid leaves for school it rejuvenates my mind and body. Take advantage of the Parent $ allocation from the Regional Center, they will pay for you to attend a workshop to help you help your child. Take advantage of FREE support through CA Black Women’s Health Project, Black Men Heal, Black Mental health and many now have virtual meeting groups. While caring for our families, let’s not forget about caring for ourselves.

The Early Start Family Resource Network provides a coordinated network of parent-to-parent support throughout Riverside and San Bernardino Counties in California. The ESFRN provides supportive services which include education, resources, and training to families with children who are at risk for or are experiencing delays or disabilities.
