Mental Health Awareness Month, Casino Night, and more!

We were very thankful to everyone who attended or donated to our Casino Night this year! It was a very successful event that could not have happened without the help of everyone involved.

Read on to learn more about what we have been up to at Alliance of Disability Advocates this month.

Current Happenings in the Disability World

May is Mental Health Awareness Month

This month provides an opportunity for all people to check in with their current state of mental health and reflect on how they are doing and feeling mentally. Take a moment to be mindful of your stress and emotions and check in with the things and people that matter to you the most.

For people with mental illnesses, this is an important practice to regularly follow. Check in with your healthcare professionals or counselors if you notice that you need help or at least try to talk to one friend about what you are going through. You don't have to do anything alone, even though you might think you do.

Your mental health is just as important as your physical health. If you need to talk to someone, call or text 988 to chat with a trained counselor.

"Mental health is not a destination, but a process. It’s about how you drive, not where you’re going."
