Hi Neighbors,
I want to open this newsletter with a few words on Mental Health Awareness Month. In May, we recognize awareness about mental health and supportive services. This includes combatting stigma, supporting those in need, and advocating for the people working to manage their mental health.
You can find more information about mental health resources on the County of Santa Clara’s Behavioral Health Services webpage, and the Santa Clara County NAMI webpage.
Earlier this month, I participated in a series of City Budget study sessions following the City Manager’s release of the 2024-2025 Proposed Budget.
It is my goal to be a voice and advocate for District 8 residents and our priorities. As the City Council works through this year's difficult budget, I think it is important to minimize impacts on residents while providing a balanced budget. I will continue discussions with my colleagues and the administration on assessing the trade-offs inherent in the budget process. As a part of this, I encourage all District 8 residents to voice their priorities to the Mayor and City Council. A public Hearing on the Proposed Budget will be held during the City Council meeting on Monday, June 10th at 6PM.
Finally, Viva Calle is coming to District 8 on Sunday, June 9th! Check out the route and details below. Additional information is also available on the City's Viva Calle webpage. More events like my Music in the Square Summer Series, Dumpster Days & Fireworks at Lake Cunningham are below!
Please contact my office for any questions, and have a safe Memorial Day holiday.
