MITCAAP Needs YOUR Help
An innovative new program to help those dealing with substance use and addiction will soon be available to community members. The Menominee Indian Tribe Community Addiction Assistance Program (MITCAAP) will provide peer-run support services to those dealing with substance use and addiction as well as the families impacted by this health crisis.
MITCAAP’s goal is to make help accessible to everyone, without fear of judgement, while keeping the Menominee Tribal culture flourishing. As part of MITCAAP’s community work, Recovery Coaches will be available to assist, support and mentor anyone impacted by addiction, no matter what stage they are at. In addition to Recovery Coaches, MITCAAP will also provide on-demand support and hotline services to the community.
As the program gets underway, MITCAAP is hosting a contest to help develop the design or an idea for a logo. MITCAAP Coordinator, Lydi Vele explains, “We want the community to participate in helping us design our logo because we are truly a community program, and we want the logo to be reflective of who we are and what we do. Even if you aren’t an artist, you can submit a design concept or even your thoughts about a logo.”
The person whose design or concept is chosen will receive a $150 VISA gift card! Children and adults are welcome to submit designs or concepts from September 20 – October 8, 2023. A winner, selected by a panel of community judges, will be announced by October 18.
Submissions can be made digitally by emailing them to lvele@mitw.org or by bringing them directly to Maehnowesekiyah at N2150 Kesaehkahtek, Gresham, WI 54128.
Design templates as well as the full contest rules can be found on the MITW mobile app or by visiting https://bit.ly/MITCAAPLOGOCONTEST23.
