Legislative Update
The 66th Wyoming Legislature will look entirely different this year. With session details still up in the air, here's what we know.
The 66th Wyoming Legislature will convene on January 12th at noon due to Wyoming constitutional requirements. However, in the wake of the ongoing pandemic situation, the legislature will quickly gavel out and recess until a later date, likely spring or summer. WMS will continue to follow the actions of the legislature and will keep our members apprised of information as we learn more.

WHRN Hires New Director - Meet Karissa Viergets
I moved to WY in 2010 from the Denver area. I became the Physician and Professional Services Recruiter in 2011 for Campbell County Health. I have 5 children and I love being a mom! For the last 3 years, I have volunteered for CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate), I love children – not just my own. In my free time, I like to explore and enjoy all types of outdoor recreation (which is why I love WY). I am extremely excited to start my new role as the Executive Director for WHRN, but know I have some pretty big shoes to fill. I have had the pleasure of working with Eileen since I started in healthcare. She will remain a legend even as she transitions into retirement.

Rewiring for Resilience
Registration is now open for Rewiring for Resilience — a new partnership between the University of Wyoming and Flitner Strategies to offer mindfulness training to health workers, free of charge. An abundance of research shows that mindfulness practices can help people build the resilience needed to manage stress and avoid burnout, even during intense pressure and high demand. We are recruiting health workers (frontline or administrative) from around the state for a research project offering free mindfulness training and support. Space is limited, so visit flitner.net/prescription-for-burnout to register. Feel free to contact
Cindy Bartz, Flitner Strategies, (cindy@flitner.net) with any questions.
It's not too late!
