Greetings from our "Member Spotlight," where each week, your regional director can nominate you for a chance to be recognized for your energized presence in the Arabian Horse community!

Shanon is an area Director for the Arabian Horse Association of Florida. She is the farm manager at Wilson Training & Bloodstock. She has two horses- a purebred gelding named 'BG Jazzman' and a half Arabian mare named 'Truly Khidding'. Shanon is very active in our club helping secure corporate sponsors and helping to organize and execute club events such as clinics, trail rides and our popular Fun Show series.

AHA is available to provide services at the 2022 U.S. National Horse Show beginning October 19th! Visit the AHA booth located in the south entrance to the Exchange Center. Bring your questions or your work to the show.

  • Get assistance with your pending transactions – We encourage you to bring your work to the show! We can also accept your Stallion Reports that are due by the end of December.

2022 Convention Events

Register now for Convention and be sure to attend the Convention Events offered this year. If you have already registered as a Delegate/Alternate/Member/Guest, it’s not too late to add the following events:


TRIVIA NIGHT - New this year, we’re putting the FUN in FUNdraising. Join us on Wednesday, November 9th for our first ever Trivia Night benefitting the Arabian Horsemen’s Distress Fund (AHDF). Have fun and benefit an all-important cause!

 

LUNCHEON - Join us during the luncheon on Thursday, November 10th to hear and learn from the various members of the EEC and the Judges and Stewards Commissioner.


Topics to be included:

  • Class specifications- with respect to the importance of the order of them
  • Quality of gaits – methods utilized to evaluate the quality of gaits
  • Ethics and Social media issues
  • Introduction of school – It is for everyone interested in what judges are taught, evaluated on, and expected to know

AHA PRESIDENTIAL AWARDS BANQUETDeborah Johnson welcomes all convention attendees to the buffet style Banquet on Friday, November 11th to celebrate the breed and one another. We will save the most prestigious AHA member and club awards for last to be presented at the banquet.

CHECK YOUR EMAIL FOR NOMINATED SIRE BREEDING REPORT INFORMATION

Emails will be sent to the recorded owner of the Nominated Sire.

 

The Arabian Breeders Sweepstakes Commission requires that this form be completed in order to solicit Breeding Entries in the Arabian Breeders Sweepstakes Program. List all outside mares bred this year. Reports can be completed here or returned by fax, mail, email (pdf format). Forms must be received or completed by November 15, 2022.

 

If you are not completing the Nominated Sire Breeding Information Report on-line and would like it to be also used for your Registration Stallion Report, be sure to include the stallion owner signature, breeding dates, breeding method and all covered mares.

CHECK YOUR EMAIL FOR AHA COURTESY PROGRAM RENEWALS

Renominations will be sent to the current owner of record. It is the responsibility of the owner to renominate their horse(s) prior to the stated deadlines even if the owner does not receive the renomination forms from AHA for any reason. If an owner does not receive the renomination form, please call AHA to renew. Take advantage of lower fees and postmark/transact your renewals on or before December 31, 2022. Renewals postmarked after December 31, 2022 may be subject to late fees or additional fees.

 

For Achievement Award and Amateur Achievement Award renewals, please submit your request or renew online into the programs prior to your first competition of 2023.

 

You can renew on-line or by submitting the completed form with payment to AHA via fax, US Mail or email (pdf format) to info.comp@arabianhorses.org You may also contact the AHA office at 303-696-4500, option #4 and renew over the phone.

Effective October 1, 2022, the following AHA Program Enrollment/Renewal fees were increased:

  • Horse Achievement Award Initial Enrollment – $60
  • Horse Achievement Award Annual Renewal – $60
  • Amateur Achievement Award Initial Enrollment – $60
  • Amateur Achievement Award Renewal – $60
  • Dressage Open Show Qualification Program –$50
  • Dressage Open Show Qualification Annual Enrollment 30 days after first show – $80
  • USDF All Breeds Award Annual Enrollment – $45
  • USDF All Breeds Award Enrollment 30 days after first show – $55
  • Dressage Rider Award Program Per Level – $55
  • Distance Horse Awards Initial Enrollment – $60
  • Distance Horse Awards Annual Renewal –$50
  • Open Show Qualification Program Enrollment (other than Dressage) - $50
  • Open Show Qualification Program Annual Enrollment after 30 days of first show (other than Dressage) - $80

AHA FOREIGN MEMBERS WHO EARN PRIZE MONEY

Foreign residents winning prize money at an event held in the United States will be subject to income tax of 30% per Internal Revenue Service regulations. This amount will be withheld from total winnings. Click here for more information.
