Spring in Mobile is here, and with it comes great events to enjoy our beautiful outdoors!

This week is the PEP Clay Shoot and I hope to see several familiar faces there! If you can't make that event, then I hope you are planning to join us for the 24th Annual Golf Tournament on May 10th.

We're proud to share the levels of support from our members for The Eagle Reef Project, listed in this newsletter and on our website. For each level, we've provided the number of reef installations it supports AND the millions of gallons of water estimated to be filtered annually through that sponsorship level. As we work towards our goal of 1,000 reefs, every level of support is an important step forward!

PEP SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION NOW OPEN

If you or your children are attending college or graduate school, be sure to consider the PEP scholarship program! This scholarship is designated for local employees of PEP member companies and dependents. The application for the 2024 PEP Scholarship is open from December 1, 2023 through March 31, 2024. MOBILE COUNTY HIGH SCHOOLS CAREER FAIR SEEKING EXHIBITORS

Mobile County High Schools are looking for exhibitors to showcase their organizations to students from Mobile County Public Schools, Chickasaw High School, Mobile Area Education Foundation, and the broader community at the 2024 Mobile County High School Career Fair. This event, a collaborative initiative from the Mobile Area Workforce Alliance, aims to bridge the gap between education and career opportunities, creating a dynamic platform for students to explore various career paths.

Graduating students will be actively encouraged to explore and apply for open positions. This is an excellent chance for exhibitors to connect with potential candidates entering the job market.

GOODWYN MILLS CAWOOD - CHARGING INTO THE FUTURE!

Electric aviation is becoming a reality in Alabama as the new electric aircraft charger, manufactured by BETA TECHNOLOGIES, was officially unveiled at Montgomery Regional Airport - MGM this month.

The first of its kind in the state, the aircraft charging station marks a monumental step in bringing sustainable aviation to the region. They allow for quick recharges for a variety of electric aircraft, ensuring both efficiency and the reduction of carbon emissions.

In addition to being MGM's airport planning and engineering consultant, Goodwyn Mills Cawood served as the electrical engineer for the project.

Another PEP member is in the news for their work towards sustainable solutions! Outokumpu was named among the top 50 companies on Corporate Knight's List of Clean200 Companies, which captures the green transition in full flight, cataloguing the publicly traded companies that are leading clean economy solutions and earning the most from sustainable sources.
